What's The Point Of Playing Survivor?

In a vacuum, possibly. But the changes combined made it so that the Killer could stand in front of the hook and recover quickly enough to deny a hook trade on a healthy Survivor. The other Survivors would try to work on gens, but they'd regress too strongly before they could complete all 5. Basekit BT was implemented, but it was too weak to do much that first week and even after the second, it didn't prevent the Killer from acting the same.
I think it was impossible to counter that without 2 Survivors on the unhook or Desperate Measures. It was very hopeless, but like today, those issues were blamed on Survivor and not balance.
That's fair. I'm not saying you're wrong either, just sharing my perspective as well.

I might not agree with you, but the main takeaway was that old DBD used to be more fun and silly, since both sides had agency. Nowadays it feels like only the killer players has agency, and the survivor side gets progressively more and more frustrating to play as a result. That is anything but healthy if you ask me.
In any case, we kinda need a "reverse 6.1.0", which was the intention for 9.2.0.5 -
Anti-tunnel changes were awful and horribly implemented on the PTB and should not have hit live in such a state.
That said BHVR is fumbling hard lately for survivors. Fog vials still not buffed to have charges based on rarity or stronger fog, no anti-slug changes but nerfed OTR, and Ghoul / Krasue were somehow deemed fine to release.
I don't blame survivors for not wanting to deal with this atm.
