very cool trailer, somewhat empty rift ?
I'm kind of confused by the lack of material in the free track especially, but based on the Claudette head being missing I'm assuming it was a schedule mix-up. Hopefully the labor that maybe got re-allocated was re-allocated to quality of life and bugfixes…we could use more of that. I hope it's just an unfortunate timing/manpower hours contraction and not the DBD rift moving closer to being like more aggressively predatory battlepass formats.
I really like the artistic bent of the new rift trailers/showcases though. The building in the mist, the shattering glass, the tableaus and moody atmosphere, sort of reminiscent of folk-horror…it's nice, and I like that it shows hints or implications of different kinds of battles or encounters in the Fog's lore outside of standard base gameplay

Gonna be honest, as someone who’s been doing every Rift since Rift 5, this one is easily the most boring one so far. Out of all killers, it’s again Trickster… and maybe it’s just me, but the skins look rushed and uninspired. If I didn’t get my Auric Cells back, this would honestly be the first Rift I’d ever skip.

- Headless Claudette will be my biggest pet peeve in this game (as a collector of STRICTLY whole skins)🤣 Anyway, aside from Dredge and a bit of Yun Jin Lee, this rift is very anonymous. I don't like Vittorio and Trickster's skins (strictly personal taste).

Yeah Claudette's cosmetic is missing the head and recolors but they said that they'll give them to everyone that bought the rift so no worries

THIS IS ALL JUST MY OPINION—I don't know what goes on, I wasn't there. But, going off of my experience with how things operate on a project like DBD, I'm more than willing to bet that he's a favorite of the art team. Same with the usual suspects on Survivor. It's easier to adapt cutesy things to cutesy characters. The more they do that, the more they attract specific whales (people that will spend large amounts of money, to clarify), and then a cycle forms where the end justifies the means. That's why I think we don't get a lot of diversity when it comes to cosmetics anymore. And when we do, it's odd things that clash because only a handful of characters can be the "muse".

They really dropped the ball here with the whole rift.
Milestones removed (which, come on, they were eh, but not removal-worthy!)
Recolors starting at half of the PAID rift (couldn't you just add some stained-glass effect on a cosmetic for anyone else?
Nothing in the free rift except the community stuff we'd get anyway (AND Dredge is pay-to-lose)
