Would it be such a terrible idea to replace Fog Vials with Fog Crystals?
I mean I'm sorry but fog crystals are so much better designed when compared to fog vials.
- They aren't map dependant. Because instead of working with opacity they just make you not see (crazy idea that the item that is supposed to make it harder to see does that I know) you actually can rely on them.
- They aren't as big. This makes it so finding the survivor /evading the killer is more of a 50/50 around a select small area, whereas when the fog vials worked at their strongest they were much more in favor of the survivor because of how big their radius was.
- They don't have charges. One charge, make it count, makes you actually forced to use it tactically instead of feeling forced to thorw them willy nilly.
What do you think?

As a survivor item, is it not supposed to be in favour of the survivor?

Fog Crystals are kind of obnoxious.
I'd rather see them buff the Fog Vials as they are.

When I originally saw Fog Vials announced, i thought they'd be Void crystals. Alas, not only were they much weaker, but they then got nerfed to be even weaker than that.
Idk about one-time-use for a survivor item but they could do crystal-strength as an add-on that depletes them, like a syringe. That might bring me back to the Fog Vial.

I mean it wasnt a 50/50, more or less a 70/30 in favor of the survivor. and it got worse if you were in a map with lots of hallways like midwitch or RPD, where you would have more choices to do and less of a chance of getting the right path as killer
This doesn't happen with Fog Crystals because of their reduced radius

Honestly, I find the Crystals to be really annoying. They're completely solid and not see through at all from the outside, and barely on the inside. Fog Vials are actually map reliant however, some skydomes have a greater or lesser effect on the fog when they're used. If they fix that and make them emit a consistent opacity, give the item some more charges and revert the nerfs to its effects, the item would definitely be back in circulation.

That doesn't answer the question. Shouldn't a survivor item favour the survivor, instead of being equal to both sides?

I think Fog vials could have stayed the way they have been before the nerf just don´t let them be spamable and make them even on every map.
P.S. make it that charms aren´t visible through the fog…
