What I think is the Problem that Dead By Daylight Has
Honestly what I think is the true problem is that the game doesn't have a proper tutorial to help teach players how to play the game
The tutorial is extremely outdated and doesn't tech players how to get out of situations properly. All it shows is the basic buttons and what ur objective is and that is completely it.
This game has so much stuff thrown in the players face which looking at it all as a new player stand point is alot and overwhelming
Tunneling is very common because thats all they can turn to do. Or a survivor not knowing what they are doing and getting tunneled out when they dont know anything about looping, reseting or literally anything to help them.
Yes there's custom game but that only can be used killers or a team of players to even get started with it.
There should be a section in the game that puts you in a match with a selected Killer/Survivors and pick what you want to learn what to counter in a safe environment where they can learn without judgements or interpretations. Even if it was to learn a new killer or Perk.
What do you guys think. Should there be a updated tutorial in Dead By Daylight

I've said it before, no tutorial can make someone play DBD properly. Player's don't begin to get good until they have played hundreds of hours. One reason is to find out that playing boldly is better than sneaking around. That only comes when you become accustom to maps and killers.

Yes there definitely needs to be an updated tutorial, but like Mr_K that isn’t going to magically make people better at the game. Watching streamers and content creators and practicing yourself is really the most effective way to get better at the game.

i think if a tutorial explained how to not unhook infront of the killers face it might help newer people deal with tunneling a little better but i do think that if people with hundreds of hours have not learnt that by now then maybe a tutorial wouldnt be much use. and in my matches, its the bold ones that "have no fear" of the killer that end up dying while i walk out the gates. i have over 2.5k hours and since i have been sneaking around i have escaped way more than i ever have by being bold. i mean why loop the killer for like 2min when no one else on the team is touching a gen? im just wasting my time for nothing. But stealth play means i can do gens myself while not being seen, maybe this is where a tutorial might come in handy….to teach people how to be stealthy while doing gens, where to walk slowly and leave no scratch marks, what gen to abandon and work on a different one else where, how to lose line of sight during a chase?

Pretty much none of my friends ever really pay attention to the tutorial in any game. One is so unaware that he ended up playing through the entirety of Act 1 and a little after of Cyberpunk with just the starter pistol…he didn't realize there was an inventory.
I don't think infodumping on new players is the solution. I think having an MMR system that's actually functional so said new players have a gradual progression in match difficulty as they learn more and more about the game is.

I'd say leave the tutorial as it is, but have a separate perk tutorial. Have the survivor move around the map and activate different perks and then show they how they work. They wouldn't need to show every perk, cause most perks are just ######### for survivor, but it would give them an idea what perks can do.
