2vs8 is the best tutorial

After seeing the current PTB content, I strongly feel that 2v8 should be made a permanent mode.

I'll list the reasons in order.
Also, this is purely my opinion, and I understand there may be opposing views.

・A beginner-friendly mode
A common problem for new DBD players is lacking enough BP.
There are various characters and perks, but unlocking them requires a huge amount of BP. To earn BP, however, you have to play with barely any decent perks.

But in 2v8, the Class system exists. Even without unlocked perks, you can fully utilize your abilities, allowing even brand-new beginners to enjoy the game.

Furthermore, during this process, you can learn essential elements like how to use pallets and rescue timing – things that should really be covered in the tutorial.

・Crawling and camping countermeasures are implemented
Countermeasures against crawling, tunneling, and camping—major issues in this PTB—are already fully implemented in 2v8.

Survivors can get up after a set time from being downed, and if someone is camping, the cage will teleport to another location.

At this stage, the countermeasures against crawling and camping are implemented in a near-ideal form, making tunneling difficult as well.

・Both factions retain reversal potential
In current standard matches, situations like 4 survivors with only 2 generators left, or 5 generators remaining with 3 survivors, often make reversals impossible.

However, in 2vs8, buffs/debuffs to generator repair apply based on hook count and hang time, making comebacks from disadvantageous situations frequently possible.

Doesn't this largely solve the problem of many people GO NEXTing or disconnecting?

・Killers can be played casually
For beginners or those just getting used to it, playing Killer now requires various knowledge and skills, making the barrier to entry high.

However, in 2vs8, since you have a partner Killer, even if you make a mistake, your teammate can cover for you, or you can play with friends, making it easier to play Killer casually compared to regular matches.

Currently, while Survivor wait times are long in standard matches, Killer wait times are longer in 2vs8. Isn't this because many people want to try playing Killer but find it too daunting to play alone?

For those people, the casual nature of 2vs8 is important for getting used to Killer controls and abilities.

I understand that implementing Killer ability adjustments in 2v8 presents many challenging aspects, but compared to the current standard match, 2v8 still feels balanced and easy to jump into.

I believe splitting the modes into a casual 2v8 and a traditional 1v4 where players use Perks and tactics would be a more welcome change for users than implementing the countermeasure system currently being discussed in the PTB.

As a casual player, 2v8 is the only time I return to DBD, it's super fun and I don't have to worry about any perks. 1v4 is too frustrating/competitive for me, having 2v8 every weekend (friday-sunday) would be awesome or 1v4 ranked mode with rank rewards and 2v8 casual mode like you suggested would also be nice

(Majority of content creators and people on this forum hate 2v8 so I'll probably get downvoted for this)

  • +1 from me. 2v8 is great. I agree with the idea of ranked 1v4 and casual 2v8. 1v4 inherently has pretty much always been competitive.
