Is anyone else here in an endless cycle of logging into DBD to play killer just to not play killer?
no really I have not touched the killer role in over a month because I’ve been in this exact cycle for that long like I don’t know why I’m doing this, It just kind of happened. I mean upside I got my Orela prestige 30 downside being I still have not played killer.

Yeah kinda, few killer matches here and there but little motivation to really touch the game with the way its going. Just doing dailies as survivor then challenges not really caring about the outcome then going to do other things.

killer just feels very stressful imo. i never play 1v4 killer and if i do it’s because of a role specific quest. all the pressure is on you and there’s no one to help you if you do make mistakes. that’s why i mainly play survivor with my duo since i at least have 1 other person i can rely on and help out when needed, and i can do the same. 2v8 has been the best time to play killer imo since its a very relaxed and less stressful game compared to 1v4.

Is it due to anxiety building up?
Or is it due to the stress around it?
KKiller anxiety/stress has been a thing I've seen thrown around.
Even today I had two matches and just... wanted to stop playing killer for the day

Killer anxiety is whats keeping me from coming back. I wanted to redownload and see how Springtrap was but thought of all the bullying the short hidden "timer" called gen speed and just don't bother.

I go play killer
It's either 5 min match with people being stomped by me
Or ultra gen rush + pre shift + pre drop so I can barely can shine in chase (thankfully it happens more rare)
But I feel I can’t allow myself play a lot without anti gen rush? My mains don’t have mobility and they heavily suffer because of it. While on survivor I have much more variety in builds. If not inconsistent MMR on survs maybe I fully switched to them, but definitely I play killer less

I know that killer can be stressful in a way but I like to see it as a no lose scenario. If I suck at the match then survivors get a decent out and lots of BP and if I do well then I made it intense. Even if I struggle with the game im always having fun, one way or another.

Quite the opposite for me. I log on hoping to play with friends but everyone has either walked away from this game, greatly reduced their time, or my schedule doesn't align. So I play killer almost every night now.

to be honest i havent really played much killer since they butchered myers. im having way more fun with survivor at the moment. i can take it easy and still win, no stress. if i need to have drink or something just pop in a locker for a little then resume my gen after i had a drink. no chance i could do that as killer. by the time i get back all gens would have popped and all 4 survivors would be tbagging at the gate followed by "bad killer" in the chat.

I do this all the time. I even buy killers and level them up thinking, "Now this will finally get me to play killer." Only for that character to sit on a shelf never being touched. Especially once you get to "a certain mmr level" playing killer just feels brutal. Especially if the character you love to play isn't an s tier killer.

Just got skull merchant to p100, without playing her in a couple weeks lol. Its the fact that you enjoy the killers gameplay mechanics and then when it comes time to clicking killer/survivor your hit with the bp bonus, the fact that you don't expect to win as survivor but you do as killer, and that its easier to die in a group rather than being the one that has to outplay an entire group and strive to win the whole time.

Jesus Christ mine is only P30 😔

Shes now my 7th p100 lol rebecca / xeno / dracula / trevor / lara / ghoul (cuz of rize) / now skull merchant.
But another point that just came to mind is the challenges → quest system. When it was challenges you had dailies that required you to play random killers, you had to play killer to 1 side of the challenges and get the killer cosmetics etc, and then plau survivor to get the survivor stuff. Now with quests theyve designed it so that people who never want to play killer never have to. Every quest you get is able to be done on survivor except maybe 1. And if you compare the 2 you get stuff like kill 12 survivors or rescue 4 people from hooks lol the survivor ones are always way easier. So now theres no challenges incentive to play killer, no bloodpoint incentives to play killer, and its just more mentally taxing as appose to just turning off the brain and throwing urself in the blender with an if you lose oh well mentality where with killer you kinda feel worse cuz it was entirely you that lost lol

Killer anxiety is a real thing and your not alone.
Sad that BHVR hasn't done anything to help players with it. Since there's so much more pressure, stress and toxicity on the killer compared to the survivor.

Well… I play less Killer since my 3 favorites got changed, nuked or got a really bad reputation.
Loved to play Chucky, the quotes, the dirty laugh, but his scamper is really trash now cause of the turn rate and his dash is very slow…
Myers was my first main and I loved him cause he was a suprise package. Insta death, Infinite T3, Mirror Myers I could play like I wanted to now he is just a dash Killer…
Well and nobody wants to play vs The fastest clown in the universe…
I would like to try new Killers but it is really hard. I am on the older side of players and I don´t have the time to learn every curve or wall hug tech in the game to just be decent in this game.
So I often play Survivor since the Game loop nearly don´t change. Yeah some Meta swaps and to learn a new Killer how to dodge them. You know the drill.

I did not know it had a name

Do daily challenges and switch off and that's it for killer.

I kinda mix killers and survivors usually, but I definately know what you are talking about. It's pretty often when I just logging in, look at killer pool and then just "Nahnahnah, not today, I will better chill on survivors". Literally today I planned to play some 1v4 on killers, but I played 3 hours of survivors in 2v8 with 3 matches on killers.

I still have some tendencies to go and play trapper but when I know what kind of survivors are put against me then every sweet memory and feeling playing him is just pure nostalgia, its hard knowing no matter you bring into the match you will start the match by loosing and have to sweat to have even chance to be then tbaged and insulted in chatt because survivors didnt have their fun and you must pay for it I mean its hard.
