Theory I heard about Alan Wake and DBD
So gonna remember it to the best of my abilities. So it started with a question which survivors could easily leave the realm(as in fully leave not just the trials).
The answer was Alan Wake and Cheryl Mason(I won't get into her as I never played and Silent Hill game). So here's how it goes
Alan ends up in the dark place with a sorta "clone" or editor's note named Mr. Scratch taking his place. Events of Alan Wake happen and he's still stuck in a place that...could be slightly? Better then the entity's realm I mean both are just nightmares in their own way. So now comes the fog taking Alan which happens because Alan wanting to leave the Dark Place ends up just writing himself into DBD now here's the interesting part. Alan might not even be in the realm he wrote himself into DBD but never really entered the fog and it enters the interesting thing Alan never makes an escape easy then he wouldn't have a good book so add a killer, a couple of survivors and hell a few bugs. So then what's the deal of him not just writing a way to escape. Because again wants to actually make a good book so him being sacrificed isn't himself rather a copy of him in a scrapped version that dies because he's restarting the book to make an escape from the Dark Place or already has...in sense haven't finished Alan Wake 2 so you know. So if Alan does escape the Dark Place via DBD then why is he still in the realm simple he is possibly writing sequels to the book or your simply playing scrapped ideas either an escape seemed to easy or well you died.
Now another interesting theory is DBD the entire thing is Alan Wake writing it. No character ever existed that includes the entity it enters the idea why some survivors just don't point out how characters from movies and games are someone real(aka Feng Min who clearly would be freaking out about you know Silent Hill, Resident Evil, ect. being real) simply Alan comes from a world where the games and films exist and just added them in because I mean after a few ideas your bound to maybe lose it a bit. So yeah that's the theory Alan is possibly not even in the realm instead writing a way to escape the Dark Place and possibly even made DBD himself because of his escape.
