General non-elite basic gamer.
Look I have played this game since 2016 and I am not an elite gamer, streamer or one of the people who hopes this becomes the next competitive game of choice. I am just a normal person who likes to play games and this game was fun and easy on my time. However, it seems that increasingly the amount of time I have spent frustrated because of balance issues has outweighed any fun I used to have.
I have never been good enough to loop a killer for five gens and will never be good enough to do that but it seems like every successive change has been made to limit the small subset of people who can do that. Which only hurts people like me who are middling to mediocre players. I am not going to sit here and list all of the details of what makes this games balanced or not because honestly I don't know. All I want is to not feel like I have zero chance in any game I launch and have to hope that the killer I play against is completely inept or just generally bad or worst yet feeling generous to have a chance at surviving. Also, I solo queue most times, which means I am not coordinating with virtual seal team six every match and have to hope that my team mates are willing to make intuitive guesses at my intentions and vice-versa.
Please fix the game so people like me, who don't spend literal hours combing through your game looking for the peak meta optimal build or don't have 3 friends on standby to flashlight bully a killer, to at least enjoy the game.

I can understand how you feel because I felt a lot like this for the first few years of playing the game. It took me that long to start getting decent in chases as survivor because I don’t play hours per day - I play probably around 6 hours per week on average.
I play both killer and survivor side , so my opinions on game balance come from the perspectives of both sides. When I was bad at survivor, I would have loved to have the survivor side buffed and/or the killer side nerfed. But when survivors got buffed more or OP survivor perks were introduced into the game, the killer side became incredibly frustrating.
So it’s always a balance between how I feel about the killer side and the survivor side in total. The balance seemed to be in a good place before the mass additions of pallets. Certainly now it seems like BHVR went too far the other way with mass pallet removals.
Just curious - do you also play killer? I’m interested to know if you feel like killer is too easy and thus would be ok adjusting the balance to make killer a bit harder and survivor a bit easier.-9 -
Every effort to help the survivor experience has been axed. As long as popular streamers and upper MMR dictate the convo, nothing will change. We have to hope for the upcoming matchmaking rework to do something instead, but after the last few patches, I can't say my hope is too high.

Behavior straight up hates solo q players. How else can you explain the fact that they have not touched the solo q experience since patch 6.5.0 (December 2022) which added the activity HUB for survivors. And no I'm not counting patch 8.5.0 because that really only added totem blessing and self healing to the HUB (negligible addition for solo q).

I feel for you brother.
This pallet density update means you are basically playing 50/50s like a 1v1 ladder match at every pallet, even worse if the killer has a chase power. And solo queue has almost nothing to help them coordinate and counterplay killer macro.
Hope the devs make the experience better for you soon, or you find a game that is more fun for you if they don’t.

Been playing since 2017 and I feel the same but less so for myself and more so for all of my friends that I have introduced to the game throughout those years, very few have been interested in sticking around for various reasons and Behaviour has done very little to incentivize new players to learn the game efficiently or give them a fighting chance to even 'play' the game as often they'll be sacrificed or tagged at a gate before they've even got their bearings.
Everyone knows this latest pallet update is so abysmal, it can only lower the player count.
