Siege is doing a free cosmetic every day of december when you log in and claim and dbd is doing 50k bloodpoints LOL
if anybody wanted to know how ######### we have it in dbd

Don´t Starve Together gives a daily free Skin since yeaers so it must be better than Siege?
I understand you, the free stuff isn´t that great and even got worse but they don´t have to give something for free at all.
Screaming that this is unfair will most likely get it completly removed instead of improved.

i dont care dbd fell off hard. they used to be so generous with cosmetics… now we have to literally beg for bloodpoints.

today was a universal animated operator background if can you believe it! i can only guess there will be outfits for ops since they've already done gun camo and op background. there'll probably drone camos too and whatnot.

The issues is the continous decline in what they give year by year, event by event. It's especially aggravating after the last few months of broken promises, failed efforts, and bugs galore. They could at least give out some goodies to quell anger and get people reengaged.

I can understand not giving out freebies every day until Christmas but a sweater or something cool maybe once a week would be nice. Or even if they made it a challenge like log-in X number of days a week and get this reward. If they are only giving out digital currency then at least be more consistent with the shards so people can get their own cosmetics.

Yeah the thing is they could.
What I am afraid of is the following and mark my words for the following Winter Event
"Since the player feedback has been mostly negative we decided to remove the login rewards for this event."
I have seen this in so many games when they try to cut out "free stuff". Give less and less and then say its fault of the ungrateful community. But "Hey you can get this new login premium pass for 1000 aura cells"
Thats where I think this will lead.

We are talking about a company which charges for:
The game
Characters
Perks
Riftpasses
and you think they won´t sell a premium login pass because it is a bad for their publicity?

I got the game for free. I wait for perks from the Shrine. The Rift you can buy once and just recycle your shards and get it endlessly. You don't have to spend a lot to get a lot. But for something that used to be free? I don't think that would go well. You want people to login and play everyday. That's the point of free incentives. People were mad as hell about the quality dip in the current Rift, for example, and that was paid. If it wasn't for the recycling I never would have gotten it. I doubt many people converted actual money to get this Rift. If they did a paid December thing, they'd have to knock it out of the park, and that seems unlikely right now.

- We absolutely cannot compare the current Advent calendar with the old ones. For those who don't know, in the old Advent calendars, EVERY YEAR there were "ugly sweaters" for the new survivors released that year. The ugly sweaters free were also for the licensed characters; in fact, I'm sure I received Cheryl's sweater as a gift at Christmas.

Kind of a smart tactic. Give free cosmetics for licensed characters in order to encourage people to buy the character.

given how buggy their cosmetics tend to be these days I'm kinda glad they aren't shoving a ton out for free. My favourite knight cosmetic still has no legs 3/4 of a year later.
