The new winter event is fun, but...
Throw one snowball and suddenly the survivors think you're friendly.
Separating the event from the main queue has never felt worse. I just wanna throw snowballs at people while I chase them, I don't wanna become friendly after.
Anybody else having this issue of survivors suddenly thinking you're memeing just because you threw a snowball at them?

The biggest problem I have with it is survivors seem to refuse to do gens and mess around with killers with snowballs and snowmen.

Honestly, this is a bit of a problem but I've come to enjoy it. I'd rather goof off with 4 survivors not taking the game seriously than get two early downs and have half the lobby dc.

Yeah, its an event. Its not a sweat pool party. People queue up to enjoy the new toys like snowballs, and this is being complained about? Normal queue exists, if this is giving you issues, normal queue is for you.
If you're going to say you want to get the cosmetics and rewards, then do it. Survivors goofing all match isn't going to affect that.
I don't understand this post. Perhaps its just a rant and I'm overblowing it. Yeah, its probably that. My bad.

Man survivors cant win aye?
"Gens are going too fast"
"Survivors are so sweaty"
"Survivors are not doing gens"What do the players even want anymore….

The players are not a unanimous voice.
I feel bad winning if my opponents aren't trying, it's not fun for me and makes me feel bad.
It doesn't really matter what side I'm on, either. If I'm on survivor and we're rolling a killer who is trying to do something goofy then it doesn't feel good to me.

I don't care about the rewards, I want to play to win against people who are also playing to win but we also happen to be throwing snowballs at each other the whole time. This wasn't an issue in previous Bone Chills but I haven't been able to enjoy a single match as killer this time and just let the survivors go, because the moment I throw a snowball they don't touch gens and just chase me around with them.
Plus the event has actual new powers like the ability to freeze pallets and cover gens with snow, and you get bonus blood points for hitting people with snowballs.
Am I really that crazy that I can try to win while also not taking it so seriously that the snowballs aren't still fun? I did one match where I 12-hooked to compensate for the fact the survivors weren't touching gens and gave hatch and they still got mad at me afterwards for killing them.

Well, it is supposed to be a fun mode that should not be taken like a comp match.
Besides, the community task specified to throw snowballs at eachother. On another note, it is so fun when you get the entire lobby with you on the shenanigans, and you end up as 5 snowmen running around in the end
Also, side-note:
If you exit through the gate as a snowman, you will be sliding along in this pose:6 -
I'm having an absolute blast, and it's been a long time since I could say that. If you want the normal stuff, go back to playing on the normal mode. I'm loving goofing off, getting BP and actually having fun. Having a snowball fight mid chase has been hilarious.

Just to be 100% clear here:
There is a middle ground between quad slowdown blight versus four survivors with commodius toolboxes and meta builds, and neither side caring about their objective and having a snowball war and high-fiving with the snowmen.
I wanna play with the event powers but also still play the video game.
This isn't a problem on survivor, I can throw snowballs at the killer mid chase and the game doesn't suddenly turn into a farming match. But if I do it on killer, it's like all four survivors suddenly go "THIS ONE'S FRIENDLY, QUICK GET OFF GENS!"

As a Survivor main try hitting them to see if it makes them loop normally.
A few times ive tried to be goofy with killer and they slap me I go "aight we gotta go back to looping" 😂4 -
i do a bit of both. i’ll loop normally like a regular match while also chucking snowballs at the killer every time i vault or stun them with a pallet. usually they do the same thing back to me but we continue our chase as normal. other games all 5 players will goof off and throw snowballs for 10 minutes straight 🤣. i love the mix between these types of games. really makes bone chill live up to its name, this is by far the most chill and laid back event.

Don't care. I play to win not give killers or survivors free wins by goofing off
-1 -
It's either that or everyone ignoring the event completely.

Sorry @Zakon05
If a survivor team/killer gets nothing but 'play the game not the event', then whats the point of the event? Just play normal queue. Literally solves your problem.
People either sweat or goof. You're currently in the middle ground, and neither side will take you. Its like playground stuff.
But again, just normal queue or… wait to throw snowballs? I down them and pelt while on the ground a few times before picking lol.

I love the knee slide. Made me chuckle when I first saw it

Do you allow yourself to have fun?
I am playing only killer on the event and giving surviviors a break is actually refreshing for everybody in a match. Why destroy the fun for 4 other people, if they just want to goof around? Aren't the games for us to have fun?
Just play normal mode if the event and holiday spirit doesn't fit you.

I get what you're saying but it seems a bit like you wanna have your cake and eat it too. For a very long time, events have been a time where players just have fun and help each other through the grind. Players used to get really upset that they couldn't play serious during events because of that reason. Now that the queues are separate, I find it odd to want the gameplay in both to remain the same. That being said, nothing has stopped any Killers I've gone against from sweating super hard and throwing snowballs.

I got on DBD after a little break and I had a Dorito head chase me for literally 3 gens throwing snowballs at me, and I was thinking they were playing (hence why I was not downed yet for so long), turns out he was dead serious in chase and was just passing the time by. I got proxy camped for the mistake of stopping and throwing them back at him. My bad.

Nice photo! The snowmen are nice, I like that in some ways that they don't move.
I remember last year being body blocked by the snowmen, while looping which was a little frustrating but it created some funny moments.
I'll be honest and say I haven't really used the snowballs to freeze a pallet, other than for the challenge itself. It is nice that we can now aim with the snowballs, I just like running around and tossing them at the snowmen - such a nice, refreshing mechanic in my opinion. 😊

I wish you could earn the cosmetics outside the event because then it leads to scenarios where people who would rather play normal queue have to play in the event, and won't play nice like some people assume if you are in the event

I've been going with the flow and see what the vibe is. I'm more then willing to have fun with survivors having a snowball fight or trying to sneak up on someone with a snowman but purposely doing it badly. Again I agree if I want regular game I can do that too.

How in the hell did you come to the conclusion that I don't like to have fun based on that post?
Dead by Daylight is fun. Throwing snowballs is fun. I would like to do both not one or the other.

This is where i believe a DC penalty should be waived. If you want to have fun and play in a fun style.. great. If a killer wants to be sweaty, great… just let me move on to the next match quicker. Everyone is happy
