Do female survivors feel strange to anyone else?
I just realized something while switching between female and male survivors.
The female running animation keeps tricking my brain. The animation gives the impression of good speed, but the pace feels so tight that it doesn't match the 4.0 m/s in my head, as if they're not actually covering distance. With male survivors, the animation feels more reactive and good to control in chase. Does this make sense?
I think I found the thing that’s been bothering me for so long. Does it happen to you too?

You're not alone in this assumption. I feel that female survivors have a much stiffer way of moving, especially when injured.
However, I guess that is a trade-off worth taking for taking up less screen space.3 -
My theory is that they have shorter legs than the males as they are shorter so they have to take more steps while running than the males.

It probably depends on whether you favour playing as male or female Survivors more often as to what feels strange to you.
I personally prefer the female Survivors partly because they feel like they're running faster. Their animation is so familiar to me that whenever I switch over to a male survivor, it takes me a few trials before it stops feeling weird.
Besides, even though I know they're both the exact same speed, the male Survivor run cycle looks to me like they're out on a leisurely morning jog instead of running away at top speed from blood thirsty Killer.

I feel the opposite. My main is male and bro is so casual I feel like he's going for a morning jog with a rabid monster on his heels. I feel slow as hell, but when I switch to my female secondary, I feel fast and sharp.

i was playing the other night and during one match it felt like i was moving slower. My duo even commented on it. Next match i was back to normal. Wouldn’t surprise me if bhvr messed things up somewhere.

I used to feel the same way about the females, but something has changed for me.

I'd play male survivors more but their shoulders feel like lego men arms, like a box with two sticks loosely attatched to it.
That and male survivor fingers cross in uncomfortable looking ways when healing others sometimes.
Honestly survivor rigs/animations need an update across the board, especially since its universally used, the game could really benefit from some visual refinement again in that department.2 -

I completely agree with you. I've also noticed that the male survivors backs look weird, like having a little hump. It's more noticeable when they're being healed. I'm waiting for the day they change the animations for both male and female survivors.

I also agree. Their arms and backs are weird looking. Too broad and bulky.
