Absolutely ridiculous to ban @UndeddJester, one of the most positive members on the site who actively shares their ideas and encourages fair and balanced discussions that see each side of this game. We may not always agree, but they have never been disrespectful or nothing more than kind and pleasant in any interaction i've had with them, or from ones i've seen them in. I don't think you'll find a single person on either side that frequents this forum who would say they are bad, malicious, or ever go out of their wya to break rules, but I guess encouraging discussion on the forums and people who build community is looked down upon. Completely ridiculous.

There seems to be an influx of people getting banned for random things, Jester has been hit numerous times with a ban. It would be awesome to actually give people a warning instead of jumping to banning them. There's worst posts out there that have gone untouched. Jester is one of the most consistent and constructive members on this forum; it’s hard to believe he deserves any bans.

Knowing their moderation system myself… I’m never gonna support majority of their decisions.
They still allow posts that fuel tribalism on this forum or discussing someones ego. But for some reasons they aren't touched and the only thing you see is cherry picking

Sucks too cause they were someone who went into discussions and actually wanted to have a conversation with you rather than just downvote, berate your opinion, or as @tes mentioned fueling the tribalism even more on the forum. They actually had suggestions when it came to feedback and could write extensively and with passion on topics, Which, we should be seeing more of those voices amplified in the community, not silenced.

i said it before and will say again, people can be banned on these forums for literally no reason at all. i personally know someone who was banned after about 4 months of making the account. They didnt comment on anything, didnt post anything, didnt even so much as upvote or downvote. They would hop on the forums maybe a couple times a week to check on recent news and read discussions, then out of nowhere….BANNED. No idea why, no explanation.

The real question is, will everyone who posted on this discussion be banned once a mod sees it because the post called out another mod? If thats the case well this forum is going to be a lot more empty and boring afterwords.

I've seen some silly infractions but that'd definitely take the cake. I'm willing to bet there's more than a few members here that have had similar silly non-sense infractions and something like this hits close to home for them as well.
I just say remember there will be no trial or chance to defend yourself, and they will be your judge, jury, and executioner. Can literally just make up a reason and base a decision off that. If we're just arbitrarily silencing the people who contribute to the discussions at hand, aren't breaking rules, and are good to have around then that says a lot about the current state of affairs around here. Quite frankly, I'd rather not discuss anything at all in an environment where you have to be on eggshells cause even the things that aren't against the rules are getting people banned. Absolutely stifles the very idea of free and open discussion. Here's to only upvoting/downvoting!

wild seeing this thread, I like to read posts even if I don't comment all the time and two users mentioned I don't know at all but I see them comment in productive ways that is good for community engagement

When the entire forum comes together against you, you should probably back up a sec and see what happened.
We can be at one another's throats on here all the time, but something that brings community together like this usually isn't good for the other side lol.
Its like if aliens attacked earth: This scenario is, in my opinion, one of the few things that would unite humanity together. Those aliens have no idea… lol (But their arsenal is probably better)

I will just say this here. Don't say anything that can be seen as disrespectful to anyone. They will ban you of it as its against forum rules and they are very strict with it. If you get heated of something take a breather before you write anything here. I have seen some post from CompetitifulDBD that made me think that might not end well and seems like I was correct. When comments start to go to any way to that direction that you are calling other person something you are playing with fire here. I don't know about UndeddJester as did not pay attention to their posts so much that the nick stuck in my head.
In the end they have the right to set the rules here and how hard they want to enforce them. Still if you got banned here you most likely had got warning before of something or you really went hard against some rule here.

Nope. There is no warning. You serve out your ban and -if- you get unbanned, you can ask why.
Its the most backwards system, but this way, when they ban you, you can't bother them with petty things like 'why did I get banned?
Saw they might be using AI, so maybe there's an AI ban bot? lol

Not much experience with Balrog, but IIRC, at the time of the 9.2.0 PTB, they went around purging threads too enthousiastically, so I wouldn't be surprised if they went a little gung ho on the banhammer too.

Hey. I'm someone who has been on this forums since its existence. I witnessed the downfall of Sluzzy and many more forum names I can't be bothered to remember. I'm telling you; be careful with these sycophants. Using VPNs are extremely risky and gets you randomly banned or banning you manually like using TOR, Orbot, ProtonVPN, etc. Don't trust Mandy, she has been manipulating her way to the top. She used to be a moderator for a very nasty individual who were also a fog whisperer. And why is she suddenly asking for a new moderator? Because JocelynBee or aka JocelyAwakens, the girlfriend of Mandy, is gone a few months back because of her absurd comments she wrote on Discord which she got a lot of backlash from. Rizzo is also another person you shouldn't trust. He is also a bad person banning innocent people and sending weird private messages.
Also, they can ban you for no reason like they did to UndeddJester and many more forum accounts. I know this account will also get banned.
You don't have to trust a word I said. Judge for yourselves but what I wrote here is what I have observed.
I'm glad I could share the truth right now because this is the best opportunity to share to you all before this gets inevitably removed and ban badgerman97 like nothing happened.

No, if he's gone, they would change his name and set the profile picture to default which they did to Jocelyn or they would remove the moderator status from its profile if he wants to keep it.

you know what since I do have 0 faith now in DbD and all this talk has me thinking, I guess it's a good time to admit that I was Divine_Confetti ages ago and Bloodshade for a little while after that. surprise.
that technically means I should probably be banned now? perma'd even? the last two times I just requested Mandy manually delete my account (which allows you to use the same email, oddly enough…I wonder about the security implications of that), but in both instances I did have moderation action taken against me at some point. so yeah. I'd probably deserve it. not like controller is ever getting its day in this game anyway. got nothing left to care about.

Tbh I got warning from him once when I created two discussions in short time (was it in one day maybe, but I cant remember), that was when he was quite new here meaning I have seen his name apear like two or three weaks before that happened. Idk about random bans withouth any explenation but I dont denny them and kinda believe they happen but how often no one knows probably.

also you can just say it's morf right? if we're doing this whole walk into the fire thing just say the name. it's publicly available information anyway. although with how search engines are these days it's probably harder to find.
it's just like how some other content creator person just so happened to become a moderator on the forum a little bit after they started dating a prominent CM at the time. it's just a little bit of nepotism. it happens everywhere. it's honestly not that big of a deal all things considered. but it does make one wholesome persona-averse after awhile.
the whole sluzzy thing is real ######### though. the forum was never the same after that.

That's a big loss to the forums. Jester was one of the best contributors to here, always polite and respectful, with good knowledge and understanding of Dbd.

If this is the time and place to band together and get banned together, count me in. You would not believe how benign some of the comments I've had removed and got temp banned for are. Legitimate criticisms too in some cases. How weak of a person do you have to be to have this piddly amount of power and choose to abuse it?

I got a direct warning by balrog.
As @tes said how is it possible that someone can post tribalism without a single fact or point to discuss but pointing them out for doing that is a giant red flag?

Before moving here I saw this trend on the steam forums as well. Obvious bait threads left unchecked while well spoken users would get the ban hammer after some time. If this starts happening here there's no point making discussions anymore.
