What's happening with deathslinger is he being fixed?

There has been a bug in the game for a few months now where deathslinger half the time will not pull up his gun and just shoot a chain out of his torso. (I've seen reported in bug reports)

This is a extreme bug, it takes away any mind games with the gun shot (which can go both ways, missing gun shot as killer because you think survivor is going to duke)

I understand he may not be the most popular killer pick rate wise but a animation bug like this that effects the gameplay should be fixed asap
