Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Let’s see how BHVR handles things in 2026.

2025 was honestly a rough year for Dead by Daylight, and a lot of players felt pretty frustrated. So the big question is: what’s going to change this year?

Right now, it feels like there’s been a heavy focus on monetization — skins, the Rift, collaborations, and DLC — while core issues are still being left behind.

Things like MMR, ping, ongoing bugs, and clearly problematic killers, perks, and maps really need more attention. Improving these areas would go a long way in making the game feel better to play again.

Dead by Daylight has an incredibly dedicated community, and hopefully the devs can focus on the right priorities moving forward.

The focus has been on monetization and not fixing any of the game’s core issues because the player count has remained relatively stable. If you want some real action, large numbers of people need to stop playing and that hasn’t happened yet.
