Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

I like the freezing of pallets mechanic in the current event would not mind a perk that can do similar thing.

It was a genuine question. I just didn’t know how else to word it. Because obviously, despite there being a lot of bad, there was also just as much good. Hell this year gave me a new main survivor, how could I hate it?

My mistake, I misinterpreted your intent.

It is easy to forget the good stuff that happened, I had to go back through the patch notes to remind myself for the back half of that list.

    The scratch mark color change.

The FNAF chapter … and that's about it.

Oh yes.. Hook-states as killer. Makes it so much easier to spread hooks.

the key rework honestly caused more harm than good :
to this day, you have no reason to ever use it outside of an hatch challenge.
the biggest evidence is how they nerfed the bloodstone addon, the only good thing about the key, giving you wallhacks for a long duration, even if that got overshadowed with much better perks and combos (scene partner, alert, eyes of belmoth)
to be an object of obession addon. which makes no sense to do because it wasnt problematic to literally anything else
replacing it with the OoO effect made no sense since stat wise, fun wise and popularity wise. no one liked object.
the iri addon is just a mini-wiretap. compared to most addons in the game, this is laughable.
killers get entire perks with full effect with very small changes on it and then you got a 6 meter range wiretap that barely lasts long.
this is just what the old bloodstone is supposed to be, but much worse.
i tried using it in chase or while stealthing and i had no reason to ever do it when i can just play optimally or other fun builds.

the hook go next prevention honestly added more fuel to the fire :
since there is no dc penalty and dying on hook fast is punished, you will just run into the killer, go afk or give zero effort in playing (i:e do gens but dont move when killer comes)
this was just a bandaid solution instead of just addressing the issues of playing survivor, which the devs never go through with it, which i doubt will ever be fixed since the trust being broken is close to being irrevesable without another overtuned meta like MFT or buckle.

vee and orela were cool and all, but the perks were, mid to useless.
orela do no harm is just a better we'll make it/botany knowledge.
Vee she got ghostnote which almost got gutted due to people complaining about no scratch marks, only to realise that its not distortion and that it doesnt matter.
1-2-3-4, has some issues, but honestly caused me more harm and time wasted in a match unless i bring an entire loadout for it, which, i can just bring botany for it.
i miss when we got alot more useful experimental perks that they bothered buffing like wicked or nicolas cage.
its why you dont see alot of vee or orela fans.

if we point out killer releases, it doesnt really do anything when kaneki is yet to be properly adressed for 8 months
his release alone made several people stop playing survivor or the game, entirely.

I second this :) Happy to be here, and hoping for more of the wonderful denizens to show up at some point.
At some point we should get some community games going

Nothing good only stuff to please killer mains, trash design killers like Ghoul, Krasue which are super boring to face, trash perks on TWD chars, countless bugs and awful new DC penalty that forces you to play 20 matches in a row to remove 1 penalty point, scratches are mid - red is still better on all maps. Overbuffed Shape that really wants me to not play that match and just hit abandon option as soon as available

-Pyramid Head finally got a good add-on pass.
-Skull Merchant got her Undetectable triggered on drone recall, leading to better skill expression and macro play.
    -The Freddy Rework. chef's kiss
    -Orela and Vee
-The key rework. Being able to near-instantly open chests and guarantee two items out of it from the rummage action is awesome, but giving you free Bond along with it is just amazing.

Uh…I was happy about the AOT collection coming back because I'm an AOT fan. The Overgrown and Entombment Rifts had some cosmetics I liked.

The memery of being able to play the tamborine at a killer. Orela and Vee as a whole are fun survivors.

That's kinda all I got tbh. Even some of the things people are listing in here as being their 'something good' are things I loathed about DBD this year. But I was happy about those things.

Oh and play while you queue for 2v8 killer. That was probably the best gameplay/mechanic thing that happened the entire year.

#1 im SUPER happy that frank stone wont be a trapper skin

    #2 mass bp spending

    #3 custom scratch marks

#4 the trial and error from the devs. They want to try but they should do multiple ptbs for such things in a shorter time span

Mass BP spending and the faster login. I can do stuff while waiting for the game to get to the main menu rather than coming back to the screen "Press any button to continue" or whatever, and then having to wait even longer to get to the menus…

    • The "free DC" option for survivors when the entire team (or at least all remaining players) is slugged. For me, who really have limited time to play (work, family, friends, home, other hobbies), it was a blessing.

The highlights for me in 2025:

    • More perk loadout presets (6 is fine, though I still think we need more).
    • Legion buffs. They're not really all that much stronger for the buffs, but they are a lot more enjoyable to play.
    • More customisable colours for scratch marks. No more struggling to see scratch marks on the farm maps is a huge win for me.
    • The abandon button. Still not perfect (it should activate when only two Survivors are remaining in the trial if the Killer wants to slug for the 4K), but it's still better than nothing.
    • Stats page.
    • Vee is my favourite new Survivor for quite a while (Since Sable).
    • Edit; I forgot about the new blood gen event. I think those are a neat idea and make a change from doing the same old gens.

Myers rework being the best gameplay I've had in a while.

yeah I feel like most people kind of agree that even if they didn’t like The Casting of Frank Stone, there’s no way in hell he should be a cosmetic

Hook states UI on killer, challenges (quests) all being toggled on by default, facecamp meter being visible, PH addon rework, the while you wait feature... Ghoul being fun to play as, I guess… Hopefully BHVR reflected and learned from the huge blunder that 2025 was for the game, especially when the game's first decade anniversary is only six months away now and has been hyped up for a while by them.

    I quite like;

    • The Mikey rework
    • The abandon option
    • The stats page (even though its not entirely accurate sometimes)
    • The anti camp meter being visible to the other survivors
    • Its cool to have FNAF and TWD in the game even though there was problems with the launch of the latter

I'm thankful that we had the opportunity to tell BHVR exactly how we feel, unfiltered. Not that I think that will go anywhere in terms of growth or progress for the game or even for the forum because, in my opinion, egos are too big and fragile like an overinflated balloon. BUT I am very proud of everyone who did so unapologetically and what that meant for them. I'm glad that many people who may have felt like they were the only ones seeing, thinking, or feeling these things are now aware that they're not. That is an invaluable thing to have. Strength through adversity.

it woulda been fog vials, but I won't even start the year being a negative Nancy.

I do like the hook count and Springtrap. the loot bag gives me much joy.

Can't be as bad as getting trapped on the other side of a God pallet for 5 seconds reaping all that free distance the survivor is getting.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of fog vials on release because I already have hearing problems as is but they were definitely a cool concept

What I love about dbd is that there's always room for improvement in how I play, and who. I enjoy trying out new characters, perks and add ons. Seeing what the new modes are gonna be. Other aysm online games just don't hold my interest the same way dbd does. Yes, it annoys me at times. But I find myself coming back to it, even over games that annoy me less. I think that's the thing about dead by daylight. Yes, there are other games that do similar things in a less irritating way, but they also don't have that special something this game has. Maybe it really is lightening in the bottle.
