Choas Shuffle builds question

Is everyone on survivor getting god awful builds? i played about about 5 or 6 games before i realized i keep getting the same perks, flip flop/fast track/mettle of man/better together over and over again like obviously it wasnt exact but i feel like these are the only perks i'm seeing???????? either surv builds have been heavily nerfed or the chaos shuffle novelty has officially ran out.

on top of everyone getting tunnelled without anti tunnel every game, ggs it was a good 1st day. i'm not playing this again haha.

That's kind of par for the course in Chaos Shuffle, it's definitely my favourite game mode however it makes two things painfully obvious:

    1. The vast majority of survivor perks are god awful at best
    2. Without slowdown or any decent chase perks, killers don't really have anything to combat an efficient team of survivors

It's a shame, but the entire nature of the game mode is to turn away from what the default game mode is balanced around.

This is a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory but it could be low picked perks like no mither have a higher chance of being picked for your build then say a meta perk like DS which has a low chance

It gave me Mirrored Illusion and Blast Mine together which was incredibly confusing. But other than that they've been meh. I don't really pay attention.

i remember when it first got released that i mostly got no mither which gave the killer a pretty easy win to tunnel out.

To me its little bit odd to call random selection of perks a build. Builds are those that are made to have synergy with your other perks, items or add-ons. The main point of the mode is that there is no builds just random perks. You can get lucky and have some synergy but expecting it on this mode is not really feasible.

I thought there may be issue with weighted perks so tracked all my chaos matches in docs since started. I've been loving chaos Shuffle tho.

22 matches so far and the perks seem to be diverse, but sometimes there is a period of 3 or 4 matches with the same perks popping Eg, Circle of healing popped up 4 times over 5 matches

    Top Perks in my matches

    Survivors from 88 Survivors

    Boon: Illumination - 7 Times
    Deception - 7 Times
    Road Life - 6 times
    Clairvoyance - 6 times
Boon: Circle of healing - 6 Times

    Killer from 22 Killers

    Bamboozle - 4 Times
    Merciless Storm - 4 Times
    Hex: Ruin - 3 Times
    Coulrophobia - 3 Times

On side note has anyone seen a No Mither? I haven't seen yet in 22 matches

So far this time around I've had a few loadouts with a bit of synergy (not that I've been able to capitalize on that potential) but previous chaos shuffle events did seem to like No Mither a little too much for my liking

I got one of my favourite synergies - Inner Strength and Overzealous - and the killer had two hex perks. So i enjoyed the gen speed boost. It's not always so bad.

mehh i just call my entire loadout a build no matter the perks. i love the idea of chaos shuffle, last year i played it heaps !! but i cant help but notice an increase/repetition of bad perks

  • You can go play killer instead and get some random trash perk like predator and have no way to deal with gens. The mode is casual you're not supposed to take it seriously. The best way to enjoy it is to not care about winning and make do with what you got.

why should i not care about winning when my killers are playing as if their families lives are on the line ? i'm supposed to endure the killer playing like a brat whilst also not caring about winning? if i want to have fun? huh ?

    casual my ass

(re read what ive said and i sound llike a twat sorry i didnt mean to sound rude) — it just doesnt feel casual ,, if anything i feel im playing hardcore survivor esp bc my perks are borderline useless most games

I managed to get Dead Hard and Overcome together. Pretty awful combo

Mine have been pretty dreadful, yeah. I might as well be perkless in most matches. Most of my opponenets have been lucky though. Had a Nurse land aura read and a Knight get DMS, Pain Res, Pop and Unforseen. Meanwhile I'm getting flashlight perks for the flashlight I'm not using lol

  • Nah dont worry about it i understand you.
This is the paradox with this mode. You’re supposed to chill and have fun with wacky builds but it only exposes the game’s faulty design of being balanced around perks.

I played 5 games and got DS+Object in one and Lithe in another.

Aside from that, my builds were usually “meh”.

I have noticed from playing both killer and survivor in the mode that an invocation was present in almost every match… randomness can be a funny thing at times.

Part of the fun for me is trying to make the best of a bad build. Sometimes I'm even learning about how some perks work for the first time (or I forget what I've got in play and realise after the fact how it would have been useful). That is kind of the down side of the mode, really. If I struggle to remember what all the perks do, I imagine newer players might feel totally lost half the time.

Trouble is, BHVR have made whether or not you have fun contingent on an unwritten gentleman's agreement. You're meant to treat the game more like it's a games night with your friends and not a for realsies visit to the Thunderdome. This is true of every single mode they've made so far and always will be. They clearly don't want to do anything that might alienate the part of the player base that takes this game way too seriously. But at least when the other side sweats in Chaos Shuffle, they can't also bring a full build to make your experience even worse. This is why I much prefer it to regular 1V4.
