Community servers would help DBD a lot I think.

So here's what i think, dbd is basically 10 years old now. It needs an end of life plan. Because honestly I find it to be a lot like TF2 where it has such a dedicated and loyal community that years after the final update there will still be a good chunk of active players.

How I imagine this working is the "Custom Match" option allows for it. You can go in, modify values and such for powers or items. You can play on community made maps. But I think more than that is the issue of burn out and "toxicity". I think servers where things are either more lax or competitive would give a space for players who want different things. You just don't earn bloodpoints in the matches so people still play the default game. But, for those who wanna goof around we could say "Go to ____" and those who wanna try hard and prove themselves can go to a server for that. If they would that is lol.

Basically I think the inclusion of community servers, as well as community made content such as maps or power modifiers would give a longevity and breath of fresh air for the game. I know the main argument against this is splitting ques, which is fair i have no rebuttal. Stuff like this is how you get games to last for a lifetime though. And while I doubt Dbd can last a lifetime, due to the amount of licenses it has and what not, it's still worth trying.
