Dev Appreciation Day
Hey all.
So far I have seen two posts (TheShape94 and CallMeRusty420) giving credit to the devs and mods for the work they have done and accomplished. So i'd like to add to this and hopefully get others to join in also. Everyone talks and rants about what the devs have ever gotten wrong. So lets talk about what they have gotten right. This can be anything from what you enjoy most about the game e.g favourite killer/survivor/map/perk/moment/sound effect/. Why you enjoy playing it as much as you do? Please only positive comments and vibes if any, as the goal is to boost morale for the team.
For me I been with the game since day one, have gotten all achievements and currently sit at 2300 hours. I even write this now as my Nea is waiting patiently for her next game. So you could say I enjoy the game a tiny bit :P I been here with the ups and downs and all arounds. But I still play the game everyday and always enjoy every second. Here's what I love the most.
1.The hide and seek/chase concept. There's an addictive quality to this that I think people enjoy so much. Which is why people keep playing. Whether it being the hunter or the hunted. Theres a side you will always enjoy playing. You get tired of playing one side, then you play the other. They have something special here that I cant really put my finger on. All I can think of is the Jaime Griesemer (video game designer at Bungie Studios) quote on why Halo 1 was so fun. He quoted:
"In Halo 1, there was maybe 30 seconds of fun that happened over and over and over again, so if you can get 30 seconds of fun, you can pretty much stretch that out to be an entire game. Encountering a bunch of guys, melee attacking one of them before they were aware, throwing a grenade into a group of other guys, and then cleaning up the stragglers before they could surround you. And so you can have all the great graphics, and all the different characters, and lots of different weapons with amazing effects, but if you don't nail that 30 seconds, you're not gonna have a great game."
I think that 30 seconds loop quote perfectly describes the tone of DBD. You hide, you evade, get caught, chased or lose the killer. A loop that is the heart of the game and why its so much fun. .
2. The killer designs Much credit and love must go to the design team that created these amazing freaks of nature. Not one of their original designs has been a disappointment in my eyes. Billy, Nurse, Warith and Trappper being my favs!
3. The Audio. To me this is one of the best aspects of the game. A game without great sound and audio feels lifeless to me. The soft rustling sounds of a survivor crouching through grass or a crop field. The cries or whimpers of a injured or dying survivor. The distant revving of Billy's chainsaw. The creaking of dilapidated and abandoned structures. I could go on and on about the audio in this game. One of my favourite features without a doubt!
These are just 3 aspects out of many that I love and enjoy about the game. Would love to hear other peoples favourite parts of the game.
Finally, to devs and mods. For what its worth. Yous are doing an amazing job! Keep it up!!

Lets not appreciate the developers who can’t even manage to stick to promises they made regarding simultaneous releases etc.

Dead by Daylight is by far my favourite game ever. I have 630 hours and I hardly see myself having that much on any other game.
- I love the concept. Killers having fps view and survivors having tps view is very original. I also love the fact that every killer has his own gameplay, some are harder, some are easier.
- it's immersive as hell. I'll always remember the first times I played against the Wraith, Hag and Myers. I was so scared I screamed. And yes,the audio helps it a lot.
- It can be really fun. I've had really good times, I was laughing so much that I cried.
- It makes you feel emotions. Bad ones, such as anger or frustration but also good ones like relief, even love. Have you ever been downed at the gates by Billy and another survivor insta heals you so you can escape? I'll always remember this moment.
DbD is an intense game, you can easily identify as a survivor, and sometimes playing killer is so hard it becomes a sport lol, but I never have regrets about having a rough game.

@guest602 Thanks so much for the great reply! Love having to switch up playstyles with each killer also I cant count how many times this game has made me laugh so hard I thought I was gonna pass out. To surviviors making hilarious mistakes to new players trying out Billy for the first time and not being able to control his chainsaw. I do be laughing every day at the stuff that happens.I think that is also another thing I love. The randoness of each game
Thanks so much for the enjoyable comment!

This game is fantastic. I love it. I really do.
It is like hitting a triple though.... not a home run.
Really good... or good, but rarely does it feel "great" on a consistent level.
Devotion rewards
ranked rewards
exclusive skins to grind for
more events
perk reworks (for lesser used perks)that would be great!
