Cheater Epidemic 2v8

Does anyone else feel like there are an extremely high number of cheaters around at the moment? Yesterday and today alone, I saw six cheaters, and I'm not talking about “I suspect he's cheating,” but proven cheaters.

Legacy Nea insta-healing herself 10 times in a row, a survivor and a killer with unreleased badges (#1000 and #1 Badge), Trapper with a H2O Delirious Masks, a flying Survivor opening the exit gate from afar, a Wesker freezing survivors on the ground by triggering the hook-animation multiple times in a row (they couldn't be picked up, move, or bleed out)...

The anti-cheat system really needs to be improved urgently.

    No - I haven’t seen a single one in 2v8 yet

Last match I faced against a Blight (EPIC-Account) with the Developer-Exclusive Banner "Entity Claws".
He surely wasn't a Developer since he humped Survivors on the ground…

I haven't had any major obvious cheaters during 2v8 yet but I have suspected some subtle speed hacking

    Yup. Happens every 2v8.

2v8 brings out alot of cheaters since its a much bigger "f u" to the killers because they know you had to wait 20+ minutes in queue.

chances of running into a cheater is also doubled since theres double the survivors.

Do cheaters need to wait for lobby? Because some are able to choose who they match too so I dont think they need to wait for lobby if they pay more than for basic pack of cheats.

Most cheaters just queue normally. But they can use a tool to force their way into someone's lobby so long as they're in the same MMR bracket if I'm not mistaken.

It's not just in 2v8, it plagues 1v4 as well but in 2v8 since everything is doubled, it's always quite apparent and that's with both sides. I get cheating Survs constantly as Killer and as teammates when I play the Surv matches to get priority queue. There's also been a lot of cheating Killers.

The game mode is also buggy af unless there's even more cheats that are specific to 2v8; I had a match with friends where no ones class power timer was decaying at the start of the match, so no one could use their class for an entire 2 minutes before four hooks because they weren't becoming available. Like what the actual #########.

Speed hacks and gen repair boost speeds are rampant in this game mode, which is funny given how already easy these things are available by standard. There's matches as Killer were the Survs are popping gens every ten seconds despite Killers getting almost no hooks and I see it as Surv via the HUD and I see it as Killer by experiencing it.

BHVR needs to seriously get an actual anti-cheat, this is pathetic.

    4 matches - 2 cheaters
First cheater match - subtle speedhacking Nea, that, after getting caught twice in endgame (3 survivors left), just pressed "I escape" right after getting caged
Second match - No idea who, but someone just decided to open a gate at 7 gens. My teammate said it was Nea (Again, lol) ((That wasn't the same Nea)), that also turned invisible in the middle of chase

I've played with/against 7 cheaters in the past two days in 2v8. Most complete all gens and open all exits the second the match starts. A Spirit knew where all survivors were at all times and laughed about it in end game chat. I've just come out of a match with a cheater I reported yesterday who opened all exits and left when the match started. He left me and 6 other survivors hanging in the air in the same spot. Killers couldn't touch us and none of us could move so I quit rather than wait for an hour for the server to shut down.

I now have a DC penalty of 5 minutes as I've quit several matches with obvious cheaters. If I get another my penalty will be 15 minutes. If I keep encountering them and keep quitting then I'll be penalised more and they'll go unpunished to ruin matches for countless other people.

My connection isn't great, it takes me more time than it would for most to upload footage and doing this for every cheater I come across is pretty time consuming, particularly when it's this frequent. I'm not doing it anymore. If my penalty keeps increasing then I'll simply stop playing DBD.

Devs, whatever you're doing to combat cheating in this game, it isn't enough. You are failing and innocent players are being punished for it. Your convoluted report system desperately needs an overhaul too.

In an adjacent thread SWF mains side with cheaters, justifying their actions out of spite towards killers. This goes without saying that the majority of cheaters play as survivors for some reason, and when cheaters play in soloQ, their teammates usually side with them in the end-game chat, which has been observed countless times, including some recent videos by certain content creators, like the recent QuiteKills' video where soloQ survivors said something like "you tunneled so the cheater did everything right".

With a community like this, you just can't hope for anything better. Yes, developers neglect the server-side validation, but the general player mentality and sentiment is also part of the problem, nowhere else cheaters are so tolerated or even supported by regular players as here. Hence the absence of complaints and reaction to the issue. So, paraphrasing the classic, every game community has the developer team it deserves.

I just encountered my first obvious cheater in 2v8. I downed a survivor and she immediately teleported to a different part of the map in the injured state. She was one of the first players eliminated too. If you’re going to blatantly cheat, at least do a better job of staying alive and escaping! I reported but I’m guessing as usual my report will be launched into space and forgotten about.

It really is pathetic that we can’t even have basic checks in the game to detect auto-ban players that are doing stuff like this that shouldn’t be possible. I guess it’s not a big enough problem yet for BHVR to take seriously.

Sadly these threads does nothing :

    • Cheaters are nothing new.
    • Lacking anti-cheat is nothing new.

I have 7, yes 7, bits of footage that I'm supposed to upload and submit to these devs in order for cheaters to maybe? be banned and reload the game right back up on another Epic account, because checks on their end make too much sense. A survivor is sending out 10 pulses a second to insta-heal everyone around them? Too difficult, can't detect, send footage.

Not wasting my time anymore devs. You guys are far too god damn incompetent.

Edit: For the record, I'm pretty annoyed. Got matched with another cheater and disconnected. Now I have a 15 min ban. Either I play with cheaters or I get a ban for refusing - absolutely ridiculous. I have limited time to play this or any other game and to be punished while these absolute shitstains continue to ruin people's matches is a joke.

If my ban gets much longer I'm just going to uninstall. Get your ######### together devs, this is absurd.

Yes, two blatant ones on EU and AUS servers, and one that was just too suspicious.

As you can see in the picture I wasn't being mended by anyone nearby, everyone cross the map was kept in a similar fashion and couldn't move. The second one was opening the gates at 8 gens. The third one was a killer moving and finding me in a spot they really would have no idea nor reason to look at, I hadn't left scratchmarks, wasn't exposed or anything, and it wasn't 'game sense' either, yet they moved as though they could see through walls.
