How to git gud at 2v8 survivor = play Scout

Just like in the title. I have so many games where Chucky just keeps grabbing people so often or people die very quickly for apparently no reason.
Like 7 years ago I made a detailed post on why Kindred (even the old one) is the best perk in the game and how it solves every major issue the survivors could face at the time (face camping, allies not going for the save or not doing gens, ect).

Scout is exactly the same and here's why:
- If you look at the killer, every other survivor can see their aura. This is huge. If everyone can see the killer then can not get grabbed. They can not get ambushed and can chose more optimal escape patterns or stealth completely. This is beyond broken and I am shocked it is like that. You can literally stand on a hill and give looping survivor near permanent wallhacks as well!
- this class has built in urban evasion, iron will and calm spirit. You can stealth so easily (especially when other scouts provide vision) and the worst thing you can do as killer is waste time.
- you can restore a pallet every 60 seconds. Infinite god pallets. HOW IS THAT NOT OP

I am not joking, the optimal team should look like this: 4 scouts, 1 of each other class
Every class has clutch moments and having at least one of them is very good (gen repair especially when people are literally lost + it wastes killer time with bombs.)

The only thing I would consider getting a duo of is Medic. Double instaheal is super naughty.

So if you think that 'your team is useless' or that you yourself need more survivability just pick the Scout.

I know it's for-fun-mode, but I see so many people throw this game completely and some other are sweating and trashtalking like their life depended on this game.
If you want to win as survivor play the Scout.

PS: I am not going to argue with anyone here. Play whatever you want to play it's 4fun gamemode. If you want to win, your odds are higher the more Scouts you have. They even counter Zombies, because pallets are back so quickly.

Scouts are helpful, but in my experience the main reason for losses on the survivor side is very simple: teammates who are just very bad at the game. People are constantly getting downed like 5 seconds after chase starts. There are pallets galore in 2v8 and there is simply no reason for people to get downed that quickly unless they’re getting double-teamed. Even if you don’t have the Escapist class to see all the pallets, they are literally every few meters on most maps. I also lose my mind every time I see someone doing totems, which happens quite often. Totems should either be removed from 2v8 or actually make them help the team somehow if they are cleansed.

That's exactly why Scout is so good. Even if it's bad player, they see killer coming straight for them they can run in a straight line and throw every pallet they see. No looping, just running. It's so much time wasted on someone who would get ambushed and then hit again soon after without it.
Simple thing like that makes Scout OP and that's why you need 3-4 of them to constantly see the killers, not to mention killers having to deal with shack pallet 10 times.

I don't agree about totems. They are there so you can do your tome challenge while also playing the game. Or you can boost your bloodpoints if you haven't been chased to max. Very valuable on 3,5 modifier.

i agree that a lot of people are just really bad... 2v8 has no MMR iirc, so it's even more unbalanced than the regular gamemode (which they can't seem to figure out either). i've noticed most of my matches go one of three ways: a) the killers work well together and absolutely demolish the entire lobby quickly, b) the gens FLY and everyone escapes with like 3-4 hook states for the entire team somehow, or c) the bystander effect screws everyone over because no survivors are going for unhooks. a bunch of people hit 2nd state/die on hook and the game is lost when it otherwise likely could have been a more even match…. there is literally zero variety for me from these 3 results lol. with the struggles to get MMR to work correctly in even 1v4, doubling the number of players only heightens the noticeable imbalances in matchmaking. :/

i also have a confession….. i do the totems sometimes when all the gens pop super fast (or if i'm last man standing and hatches are closed)…. but i feel like due to it being situational its fine, right? don't hate me LOL, i'm just trying to farm some BPs with the huge bonus on the game mode

LOL I don’t hate anyone for playing the way they want to play 🙂. It’s just very frustrating to watch some teammates do totems in early game or when the outcome of the match can still swing either way. I have no problem at all when people do them for extra BP when match is clearly over one way or the other - I will do them myself in those situations!

Nah, on demand sprint burst is what wins you games. Trust me. From my stats. It's the most broken thing in the game

You just need everyone running as much escapist as possible, and a scout to keep refilling killer shack pallets. gg

Just to notice not everyone is playing the game with full attention without talking, music, chats or other background things. Sometimes you're trying to finish the gen and ignore the risk getting grabbed. At least it's fun like you said.

If you have so many scouts everyone could be more busy to build up pallets and following the killers instead doing gens.

I think the Sprintburst cooldown feels too short. Chases are too easy with this + the endless pallets. Many killers just giving up chases because my sprintburst is rdy again. Every killer is different is differet but usually you need 2 killers to get one survivor with sprint burst in 2 vs 8.

If I'm playing another class it feels a lot more balanced, too me.

Escapist probably helps balance out Guide, which i would imagine probably doesn't have a great escape rate since their role is literally to sit on the gens the killers are patrolling
