How does Oni know where everyone is in 2v8?

So if your aura is revealed, you hear that swoosh sound and a red icon appears on your screen alerting you that your aura can be seen.

When I play against Oni though, they always seem to know where everyone is once he gets his power, even if there's no aura reveal activities such as a gen kick.

How does Oni know where to find everyone in 2v8?

I play Oni a lot in 2v8 along with Nemmy and Nurse. However, to answer your question. You dont! I just do zoomies around the map checking on Gens. You're bound to find someone out of position and get the down along with it.

That being said when you do get aura intel with Oni its quite nice.

He doesn't but Oni is generally the strongest (imo) 2v8 killer right now. I know, not in theory, but practically every Oni i verse gets around 3 downs every time he's in power (which is basically all the time in this mode). Survivors tend to group up in this mode which suits him even more than others.

His dash gives insane scouting potential. Just run vaguely in a curve following where the gens are, pivot if you happen to see someone, else listen and pivot to whichever gen is sounding out progress. It's a guaranteed way to find at least one person, but often more. With twice as many players to find, Oni is feasting.

He doesn't but a knowledgeable Oni will check edge map, the corner of tiles, and near gens. Usually this results in 1-2 downs. Also sometimes survivors think they are hidden behind a rock or wall but they or their medkit is partially sticking out. However I will say the reveal mechanic bugs sometimes. I've had a few games where I got an aura reveal for no reason as killer and the survivor had no idea. The other day I downed and caged a survivor as Trapper. A Sable hiding in a corner several meters away lit up red. I hadn't kicked a gen and I was too far away to enter chase. My teammate was across the map. She had no idea she was revealed and probably asked herself how I knew where she was. Devs really need to fix those small instances but most discoveries come from experience as killer and survivor.

Maybe blood orbs can let him track injured people sometimes but its rare so cratch marks (people forget how brights with some collors they can be) and birds are huge tracking info too or if they just reset you know someone went this way, sometimes blood pools can be seen like on indoor maps but they arent that great as other options.

Nemis zombies reveal survivors whereabouts a lot too which people dont bare in mind that they can be good for tracking too.

People don't realize just how many ways there are to find survivors in 2v8 especially.

One particular case that I take advantage of is getting auras on survivors that my partner killer starts chase with, because then I can zoom right up while they're paying more attention to the other killer.

Some survivors equipping costmetics or charms you can see from far away or inside things like fog vials does not help their case either.
