10th Anniversary bets?
After the Stranger Things return and All Kill Comeback have turned out as solid successes to round out a struggling yet massive year for the a game, the next chapter up is set to continue the trend by being the big 10th Anniversary blitz.
When I was 10 and originally caught wind of the DBD alpha on YouTube, I thought to myself "it'd be cool if they could add more than just 1 killer and they had abilities".
When the game launched with Trapper, Wraith, and Billy I thought, "It'd be cool if they could add more and some of them were killers from movies"
When they added Myers, it was like the dream was real, I thought, "what if they got all the big names? What will the roster look like in 10 years?"
I can't say that it's been everything I wanted, but it's kinda insane to think that childhood dream was fully realized, even snagging my own most wanted Licence in FnaF. Personal stories aside, I feel it pertinent to ask:
Who do you think it will be? Who do you want it to be?

Well they maybe could get Jason Voorhees as he has been wanted to be in the game from the start and might be finally on the table but don't know. He also is one of the only OG slasher killers that have not been in the game.

Id imagine the 10th anniversary would have to be something theyve been struggling to get for a long time like jason or pennywise. What i hope it is, is predator or the thing

hoping for Jason (i know so original). the timing seems more perfect than ever considering Fortnite and Call of Duty just got Jason in october last year. the Jason Universe was created around May 2024 and given the timeline for BHVR to get licensed chapters in the game (2 years) it lines up very well for the 10th anniversary chapter.

It has to be big, my two guesses are either Jason or Predator. My wildcard pick is Art The Clown though.

May not be a licenced killer. The community poll chapter would be pretty appropriate for the anniversary. The theme seems like it could be a very significant addition to the narrative, since it seems to be a religious, angel themed chapter it could be looking at the entity taking on or dealing with a rival god of some kind.
But jason would be absolutely huge for the gamr too. I'm not too fussed personally but it's always the first thing people ask for. Either way I'm looking forward to it.

All-Kill Comeback is a solid success?

Makes sense that F13 is the first to come to mind. In my heart of hearts, I do hope it's Jason. He's the missing link of the merry band of murderers we've accrued overs the years
With all of the Sequel chapters as of late though, I wouldn't be entirely surprised by a 3rd RE chapter given how popular those collabs are on both the survivor and killer side. Doesn't quite have the oomph factor you'd want from the 10th anniversary, but it'd be an easy way to keep the hype rolling.
It's already been said a few times the community voted chapter is after the 10th anniversary iirc, and it's kinda why I'm betting Chapter 40 is licensed, as there's already a lot of hype and marketing being given to Chapter 41 just by nature of the concept.
40 might run the risk of being overshadowed if it's original, unless it's a big time community ask like a spider killer or smt

While I'm okay with Jason coming to DBD I just don't know what he could bring to the table that wouldn't make him boring and end up like Krasue where nobody plays him.
Cause lore wise he's this absolute tank that uses stealth and a variety of weapons to kill people.
So the only unique thing I could see that they could do for Jason to make him unique is he has access to a variety of weapons with unique abilities to them and for survivor to make it interesting for them they also have weapons they can use on jason just to slow him down.

- I'm hoping for an OG DBD (I'm talking about a couple of maps and a handful of killers/survivors). It would be a completely optional mode, but it would allow longtime players (me) to relive the old DBD, with its extremely unbalanced mechanics. Obviously, those who want to "savor" the old-school game will be able to do so, while those who experienced it would be a blast from the past. I assure you, it would bring back (even if only for a short time) many old players. The mode would be completely optional, because I'm sure the entire new wave of players (let's call them modern players) will hate the old DBD, especially the killers (even if there were completely unbalanced mechanics for killers too).

It would be pretty cool if we got a new modifier or mode or to go alongside whatever the chapter ends up being.
Where would you draw the line for a classic DBD mode? I feel like Blight or around Twins would be a good stopping point, as that was around when Realm beyond was introduced if I remember right.

Though i haven't played in years because i don't like what they did, and i don't PLAN to play again, i am still going to watch.
Played for years after all, and i did enjoy playing.
So the hope is simply that it'll be something that draws me back in.
What i THINK it would be i couldn't tell you, been out of the loop for too long to say for sure.

For an anniversary as important as year 10 and Jason Universe being a thing, only Jason will make sense to choose for such an occasion.
While others like IT, The Thing, Candyman & Predator are all highly requested, none of them frankly holds a candle to Friday the 13th in terms of cultural importance and significance, especially to the slasher subgenre that DBD is based on. Jason is THE gold standard of slasher horror and probably one of the last remaining big slasher icons with said cultural importance not in the game yet.

The Slasher, aka Jason, would be massive, especially if they manage to get a new Survivor and Realm to go alongside it. Imagine two Survivors!

I dont care too much about Jason, but clearly other people do a lot.. so it would make a lot of sense.
