Cheating is out of control

Just had a survivor instantly revive from the dying state.
Survivor main.
It's one thing to never address balance, it's another to never address blatant cheating.
BHVR didn't quality of life anything. Waste of a year.
Make the game server side to control this trash.

Are you sure they weren't using plot twist?

I do agree though, relying entirely on client side anticheat is naive at best.

I still get surprised that Behavior (for what is compared to other games) don't have hardware banning.

I am aware that DBD (or at least Behavior doesn't view the game as competitive) ~ but at least Valorant, Fortnite, Overwatch, Call of Duty, and other "competitive" games take cheating more seriously.

This is the only game I can think of that gives cheaters a slap on the wrist. You can say slurs, cheat, (in the past hold people hostage)... But for some reason Dead By Daylight refuses to stop repeat offenders from continuously cheating.

I can understand why they would opt to not do it necessarily as it could affect matchmaking to a certain degree, but at the same time Behavior needs to recognize that game health is more important than simple band-aid fixes like get done with a game, report, account gets banned, account gets created again, - rinse/repeat.

Cheaters don't have to waste any money they can get everything unlocked with the cheats. So your theory falls flat right away.

If you cheat there is no point to use money on the game as you risk losing it and if you try to say they have to buy the game again none of that money goes to Behavior as they buy one of those free accounts with free copy of the game that are made every time game is given out for free in any platform. Epic is very common place for this.

If i am not mistaken they are using the free Easy Anti Cheat version instead of, at least, a paid version.

What can you expect of that…?

I mean, I'm not asking for a boycott of the game.

I just noticed it when I watched Fortnite content, I was bored - I do not necessarily play Fortnite, I haven't in years.

Just breathtaking to me that all of the competitive "esport" games take cheating and demeanor more seriously than Behavior does.

I have a lot of gripes with Behavior, cheating is one of the few things - I'm just pointing it out. They're not as bad as let's say H1Z1 where a developer outright showed that they were cheating. But the only slap on wrist, report, cheater rebuys game (or whatever they do), hack skins in/hack their levels/use whatever hacks they do.

I haven't touched the game in days because I saw two cheaters on the same day.

One against a Trapper where you could obviously tell the person is cheating (knowing where people are even behind walls, no scratch marks, and just their movement ~ you can tell) and a teleporting Doctor where they teleport on you when you vault anything.

It's just a shame, even if you look at asyms (which I didn't play TCM that much, but you could label people as people you want to avoid and the game will notify you if that person is in your lobby). So, to me cheating is an issue that should have been a priority over revenue or matchmaking as a whole.

Some people can argue that cheaters can bypass this and make others appear as if they're cheating - regardless, Behavior needs better anti-cheating. I still am surprised that us console players cannot type in our own reports or upload the footage on what exactly happened - we have to go through a multitude of steps to prove that cheating happened.

All of it is just mind-boggling to me as a whole when it comes to it - I am aware Behavior does not view DBD as a competitive entity, that doesn't excuse the behavior at all. We should prioritize game health, not simply imply there is nothing we can do and I see the same cheaters every now and then - it ruins the gaming experience for both survivor and killer.

i agree, there is way too many cheaters today, and those streamers with massive winstreaks are vpn to certain locations where they just pub stomping new players lol

Why waste time banning them? They have tens of thousands of free Epic games accounts thanks to the multiple free weekends. They will never run out and as others have said, not only can they cheat in any skin or item they want, they can infect OTHER PLAYERS with their cheats in an attempt to get innocent players banned.

    What a mess.

Honestly the least they could do is implement some kind of detection system that checks if everything in the match is running normaly (survivors and killers having normal movement speed, gens are not instantly being completed, people not getting insta revived etc. ) and if it isnt just make it possible for everyone to abandon instantly.

Its so annoying when u get multiple cheaters in a day and can basically either wait it out or DC and be banned from playing even though u did nothing wrong.

Sad. twice in one week I've been matching suspended for "suspicious activity" in the last game. Love being punished for trying to play and a cheater ends up in the lobby.

edit: took a break for a bit and when i got back on it turns out i also regressed from Irri 1 to irri 2 with 0/5 progression marks. Love being punished because someone else is cheating. Not hard to get back to one but the fact they punish so badly for something out of 4 other players' control is… awful. There needs to be a better system in play that doesn't screw everyone.

Just give this a little bump, because this is getting more frequent and EVERYONE in those lobbies with a cheater is getting punished for nothing.

I just got out of another game with the SAME cheater killer bot i posted about before. This marks the third game in about a weeks time. I'm so over this crap.
