This has been the best Blood Moon event so far
I know some people will not agree of my topic but hear me out.
There is three iterations so far of this event. First one was not good having the Blood Basins that gave bonuses for both sides if they were inside the 12 meters from the Basins. This was of course not really anyway usable unless in some rare cases and rarely did anything in the matches. If I don't remember wrong the event offering itself was bugged and you did not get bonus bloodpoints of the interactions. This is clearly the worst iteration of the event.
Second event introduced as with the new blood gens but pumps were usually spawning right next to them causing those gens to be finished really fast and as killers could not effect them anyway other than kicking them manually when perks did not work on them limited any counter play to prevent survivors from getting them done. This caused most of the matches to be late game generator defense of killers just having to try to stop survivors from finishing the one normal gen they needed to get the doors powered.
Third time we get to the current one. First good change was to make perks work on the bloodgens so now there is more give and take going on and killers can play more freely not limited on defending the three normal gens. I know there has been quite vocal group of individuals who have posted pictures of the pumps being spawning together and being faraway from some of the bloodgens. Still in my opinion this is good as it will now really give some possibility of the bloodgens not been all the time the gens that are finished first and change the gameplay loop. I have seen way more of people doing all the normal gens as they see it more beneficial than running with blood cans to furthest gens. Still even with that you can get one of those faraway gens done decently fast when you do it with few people it will take max 4-5 trips to finish any gen and the closest you can do with 3 trips while running the whole distance.
I feel people got used of how easy it was to fix the bloodgens in the second event for me it just felt boring it was way too easy to do and I knew it and most of these people who complain about it now being too hard also knows it. How the distribution is now in my opinion is way better than it was in the second event. In my opinion this even is the best it has ever been and I will stand behind that statement and I provided anyone the reasons why in this post. Hopefully some people agree with my points but in the end I just wanted to write this because I feel like the negative topics are way too common and way too critical of an event that is still the best one so far of its kind.

I appreciate the positivity. I'm not saying the event was perfect, nothing is, but I've had plenty of fun on both sides with it and the pump spawn issues are rare.
That being said, those pump spawn issues can win/lose a game the moment the map is generated though, so better logic on this for next time would be nice.
I'd also like a way to incentivise a normal gameplay loop with the addition of blood generators. I find them fun to interact with as a similar but ultimately different objective, but it's sadly rare that I get to experience this playing out in a regular game. Farmers, people that go next so they can farm if the killer is trying to play normally and a general mismatch of expectations is creating entitlement. However, I'm not sure what the solution could be shy of dropping 40k into everyone's accounts regardless of the game results, which would also be boring.0 -
Well with the old logic it usually caused survivors to win because the blood gens were done so fast that it was not even funny. I played back then and it was really how I say it on the original post. Blood gens got done first and then it was literal ping ponging holding on the last gen.
I have to admit this I have not even played single match as killer in the event because I usually chose the side to play because of the bonus on bloodpoints. I will play the killer side soon to finish the quests but in the end I have had more fun on the survivor side than I had ever on the second iteration of this because I don't see what was fun in the 20 meters away of blood gen you always had a pump thing either. It was literal three runs between the pump and gen and it was done. In the current one there is at least something to think about if the further gen is worth try to get done with the cans or you do one of the normal gens. Before it was always get the blood gens done and if you wanted to seal the match even more firmly one did one of the normal gens at the start. It was already hard enough to defend the three normal gens but one of them was a blood gen it was even harder.
Main mistake most people still do in the event queue is that they are afraid to run with the can when in most cases the running is totally the right thing to do. Walking is what kills most of the matches I have been as survivor as them trying to save few inches of the can will not finish the gen either. You need to know when to walk part of the way and when not. Its has way more nuance than the second iteration ever had. Positivity is not the main point the fact that I do clearly state why its better pumps being close to the blood gens is not a positive its in most cases just caused the match to be basically nothing burger.

I've played both sides fairly equally and I don't feel the spawns innately favour one side. They just have the potential to, especially on larger maps. While I expect some RNG to impact difficulty for one side in some cases, right now I feel it's on the cusp of being too swingy. It's my only gripe in terms of the actual implementation of the mode. Other than that I have been having a blast
