I would love that - sadly though with how messy that license has been in the past, I doubt it.

He's one of my favorite killers, though sadly I doubt his license will ever return. I feel so bad for all the new players who can't play as him 😥

I don't see why it couldn't come back to dbd, BHVR was faithful to his core identity rather than what the rights owner was actually mad about with the movie adaptations so I still have faith.

They most likely can get it back after the exclusive rights expire that the Hellraiser: Revival game bought but as its not even yet released might take at least few years. I still don't get why companies think taking something away from one game will help them sell the other. Every time this game loses a license because of another game company wanting to get exclusive rights is not going to make me want to play that one.

Like even for the license holder it would be better to be able to sell the license to as many companies to use not make it exclusive to one at least in video game base as it now also means there is no way we are going to see any Hellraiser characters in games other than the one holding the exclusive rights.

Hellraiser left DBD because the license bhvr had for the first movie became null, after the copyright to Hellraiser 1 split between Clive Barker and Park Avenue. Nothing short of a complete re-negotiation with both parties will bring it back now, and those processes can take who knows how long.

The new Hellraiser game had nothing to do with it.

Clive Barker does now have the rights once again. With Hellraiser Revival coming out and it being a single player game, the IP has a better chance of coming back then Halloween. I wont say it will come back in a year or two but maybe after some time we will see pinhead back like stranger things coming back.

They don't need to negotiate with both parties as its licensing is handled by one company currently. So there is already agreement of joint custody. Behavior just needs to negotiate with that company that handles it and the main reason why its not possible to get now is because the other game has exclusive rights and that has been stated by even the other game company.

Ngl a single player Hellraiser game sounds like fire, hope they handle it well and hope it's on UE5.

Lament GameCo. LLC is still ran by both Clive Barker and Park Avenue, as stated in the copyright text for the Hellraiser game. So yes, they still need to re-negotiate with both parties to bring Hellraiser back to DBD, regardless if they're under the same copyright umbrella now or not.

the other game has exclusive rights and that has been stated by even the other game company.

I'm gonna need to see proof of that.

Maybe after the release of their single player game?

Literally reads on their site: "Hellraiser™ and The Hellbound Heart titles, characters, settings, protected marks, plot lines, and themes are exclusively licensed for video games to Lament GameCo, LLC by Clive Barker and Park Avenue Entertainment, LLC. All Rights Reserved."

    https://saber.games/hellraiserrevival/

Scroll to the bottom and you will see it. Clearly states its "exclusive" rights so nobody else can use the characters in video games and that is the reason why Behavior can't get the rights until that expires.
