New forum feature 'views' on posts
Noticed theres a new number on posts that tell you how many times your post was viewed by someone. Likely even including yourself or people going back to the post multiple times.
If its accurate than its quite shocking roughly how many people go to a post just to read it and leave without clicking up or down vote or even leaving a comment.

We have points now as well, although I am mystified at how the distribution worls. You can view how many you have on your profile.
But there’s lots of features that weren’t there before.

Points have been a thing before. But no idea how they are actually calculated.

I think these are things we just can't usually see but the forum is bugged right now. Posts also have points too, which show the ratio of upvotes to downvotes, the ones with more downvotes than up having negative points. This seems like mod info and not regular folk info.

Yeah some of the forum members spent a good bit last night speculating because I can have 1800 while fridge and others higher than me have 400 lol you are the highest ive seen so far.

If points are being used to determine whether or not administrators should see forum posts, that doesn't sound particularly good

I'm not surprised by the views to post ratio, I think its pretty normal that more people just read what is going on.
I'm more surprised by the view counts. I thought they would have been higher for the official forum.

Also you have to take into account that it counts all views not just a one view per user.

Man, this is weird but kinda cool. I've never seen the forums like this outside the occasional server or phone bug.

I kinda like that feature. Wish they'd keep it. Now i can get an idea how many people don't care about the thing I've posted about 🤣

Lol does it count multiple views from the same person? I thought it would count how many separate users have viewed it at least once. Could be either way

I think the forums fixed now to not show that anymore. But even as i made a post it showed 3 views before i even finnished posting it lol

I'd wager most people are simply on other social media sites (Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, etc) or private communities on Discord.
This forum doesn't really offer anything that those sites don't already provide. It used to have the advantage of being the primary place to report bugs, but now that the betahub exists even that is gone. As it is it's just another place for endless circular discussions without the ability to have fun poking at the absurdity of those endless circular discussions due to strict moderation. Quite dreary all in all.
