Confirmation bias with tunneling/slugging/camping complaints

I am someone that never touches survivor, except during 2v8. The last time I grinded to iri 1 in 1v4 normal mode was maybe like 6 months ago. I have multiple p100 killers and my highest prestige survivor is a p5 Dwight. Now that you know my background:

Last month out of boredom I decided to start working on the survivor tome challenges and try and get Iri 1 in the process just for the bloodpoints when the 13th comes around. In my entire grind to Iri 1 I only experienced maybe around 5 or 6 matches where a survivor was genuinely hard tunneled out, like someone dead at 3 or 4 hooks. In regards to camping I don't consider face camping a hook when exit gates are powered to be "camping", I genuinely can't even remember any matches where I had a killer camp. Let's say maybe 1 or 2 games where a killer camped? In regards to slugging, besides slugging for the 4k when theres 2 survivor, I barely had any games where we got slugged. Keep in mind this grind to Iri 1 was before the Trickster rework went live with the new buffed fast track.

I know what I am stating is quite literally the definition of anecdotal, but yeah thats just my experience with the hours of games I put in to hit iri 1 on survivor. I have started to become very skeptical when someone says "I played dbd last night and EVERY single match had a tunneling killer"

    It does depend on the server you play and the time or what days you play and what MMR you are if you run into campers or sluggers.

    I am in the same boat rarely see real tunnelers or campers. Also its not camping when you are defending the hook after all gens are done its the only pressure killer has and thats why there is no anti-camp in the end game. Those who say that is camping don't know what camping means in this game as why would killer let them unhook for free.

    Agree. I play both sides but survivor at least 40% of the time. I don’t see tunneling that often either. I think most of the complaints about the prevalence of tunneling are 1) people just not being honest; or 2) people honestly thinking they are being tunneled but simply because they died first even though killer probably didn’t actually tunnel. I’ve never once seen anyone post multiple consecutive unedited matches that provided actual evidence that they encountered hard tunneling in consecutive matches.

    Even if tunneling was prevalent, I personally enjoy it when the killer focuses on me. That means I get to experience the most fun part of the game for the majority of the match. I don’t understand the mindset of people who want to just hold M1 on a gen the whole match and never have the killer bother them. Might as well just play a custom match with bots if that’s enjoyable for you.

    I play late at night, with pretty sweaty players. Most of my killers are high-hour p100s. These three tactics occur in multiple matches every time I play. It's gotten significantly worse over the last few months, so much so that I play less and less survivor. Whether that's from my MMR becoming too high or a change in the game's tone, I don't know, but I see it way more than I used to, particularly killers going for full team slugs.
