Yes, another rant about cheaters.
My god it's 9 out of 10 games, as killer I get survivors running twice the speed as me and as a survivor I get killers that catch up near instantly like full on sprint bursting towards me.
It's to the point now where, if I see a pc flashlight player I just back out the lobby, I'm not wasting a perk slot just to combat cheaters who will speed hack against me anyways, they might even be legitimate players but I honestly don't care, I'm not taking that chance.
As a legitimate player it's very easy to tell the difference between a hacker and a legitimate player, the only reason I'm even making this post is because I took a couple days break after dealing with 2v8 cheaters, I come back and literally my first match in 1v4 is against speed hackers. I'm trying to enjoy the game but it's over the top bs.
No I wasn't recording and no I don't have the data to upload GB sized videos to youtube nor do I actually care that much to upload videos, many players and content creators have complained about this issue long enough with their own video evidence for me to realize complaining does absolutely nothing anyways.
How do I know survivors are cheating? Because as a killer I'm suppose to be faster than survivors, when I only have a 0.1% speed boost against them, they're obviously cheating. They maintain distance at all times, I was running Onryo and when I'd pop out of a tv I get a speed boost, the second I lose the speed boost they're making distance on me which is not possible without a haste perk. In these instances I just back out of the game, I don't care about the penalty. I also find it stupid I'm getting penalized for backing out against cheaters, by only penalizing us you're rewarding the cheaters by granting them the opportunity to ruin another players game, that's bs.
It's more difficult to tell if a killer is cheating but it certainly feels like cheating when I come from playing as a killer who literally can't catch up to a survivor to playing as a survivor whom instantly gets run down by a killer, if that isn't enough you got other killers like Oni who has no turn rate penalty leaving you completely helpless, obviously Oni having a turn rate penalty is the balance for his power but cheaters just abuse that aspect with their hacks allowing them 100% control whilst in power completely negating the penalty. It's exhausting.
I understand completely why people are picking up hacks and cheating themselves, it's quite literally the only way to compete against the mass majority of hacking players, otherwise you're having the exact same experience as I am and it's quite miserable. So now I'm left with two options, join the mass majority of cheaters or quit the game, I'm not going to be cheating any time soon and each time I play reinforces to me why I should just uninstall. That's all.

If it’s this prevalent, can you post a couple videos showing us what you’re talking about? I’ve seen plenty of cheaters but it’s not 9 out of 10 games.

When anyone makes that claim it usually invalidates anything they said for me. Like if you want to talk about cheating yeah we can talk about it but when they start it with claim that is totally not the reality it just gives the impression that they don't know what they are talking about.
Any kind of "proof" would be nice but even then when you try to explain that there is no cheat there they will not believe you.

My god it's 9 out of 10 games,
Yeah no, this never happened.5 -
Cheating is much, much more common than some people realize I admit. But 9/10? On my worst nights I have around a 40% encounter rate with cheaters. This is largely clear to me because as I've grown more familiar with the game it's becoming easier to tell the difference between when someone bugs bunny'd me as I rounded a corner, and when someone flat-out teleported.
That being said running a full haste build on killer was uh, we'll call it enlightening. Achieved somewhere around 15% and 28% haste (pre dim) over straight and relatively straight run engagements. Got a bit goofy so I went back to PWYF and just maxed the stacks and ran the sample when I was suspicious of a given individual, keeping me at 15%.
Moving at 15% haste, on a 4.4, put me to 5.09m/s. Meaning every second I should be gaining a meter on an unhasted survivor in chase. I did, somewhat regularly, find survivors moving just as fast as me, or faster than they should be when I did this. Now mind you when I say 'regularly' please recognize the sample-size is bias, as I only did this when I already suspected a given player of speedhacking.
That being said, BHVR has been pretty good at spitting out positive reports these days, so you may start seeing a downtick.2 -
He has no proof only words but due to my personal experience I believe him he can meet few cheaters per day.

Not saying there aren't a lot of cheaters but I genuinely feel like people dont know what a lot of perks and add-ons do. This makes them equate to anytime they are losing as "oh the other side must have been cheating".

There's a whole lot of this behavior going on.

One thing I've personally noticed recently are subtle speed cheaters. If it was in normal mode I would typically just assume it was some perk or something and not even bother checking but being 2v8 makes it even more obvious shenanigans are in play. It usually happens when I'm almost close enough for an M1 and suddenly the survivor starts going just barely fast enough to increase distance. It's not anywhere near as fast as a sprint burst, nor is there some effect activation ping or bubble effect but it's obvious they're suddenly going just a smidge faster than me.
It makes me wonder just how often that happens in 1v4 and I just don't notice because I assume it's some random perk I never bother following up on checking.

It's not 90 percent of games like this person is saying, they are being hyperbolic. I will say though I have noticed a big increase in cheaters when I play a lot. It seems to be about one or two a week when I would put in a lot of hours. Before when I would play a lot, maybe 3 years ago, it was like one or two every 6 months. It's becoming more common and I can see it feeling like it's every game. I have played a lot less because of cheaters. In fact this past week it says I have played for 5 hours. That's very low for me but plus side, I didn't get a single cheater lol so I guess there is that.

I wonder about this all the time too, because I usually just assume it's a perk or I'm misjudging. My mind just doesn't go to cheating unless it's blatant.
