Hits through Pallets
So a couple of patches ago this wasn't a problem but now it's been getting worse with each patch if you throw down a pallet while the killer is swinging you have a 70% chance it's gonna hit you through the pallet.
Devs we need a tune up on the Validation and refund system

Ive been having this issues more so with windows.
Will have clear distance for the fast vault, but then game decides to jolt me backwards in range for hit where the killer should of not had the distance to get the hit.
consistent 30 ping on ethernet connection so that should not be happening, if I had bad ping would understand why.
I actually find the pallets suffer way less from this in my experience, But I tend to run through pallets on swings rather then drop.5 -
Yeah still getting hit even after you clear the window is terrible

It's the only online game where my playstyle is determined by the ping check at the start of every match. Hit validation is shocking in DBD, but I can't see them doing anything about it. It's become the norm.

DbD is the only game I know that rewards (favors) one side (The Killer) for lagging. The name of this system is Favor The Killer. Hits should be moved entirely from The Killer's end to the Server. SSHV only"validates" hits after a certain ping threshold, which is extremely generous and, well, using the devs' own term: Favors The Killer. It's a terrible system.

I wanna remind you that they fixed those ping hits few years ago…
DBD for survivior felt amazing then.
but they brought it back to the previous state because killer mains shared their "feedback".

Yeah, the treshold is extremely high. I even think that it is way higher than needed. I can understand why it is high, simply because BHVR does not provide Servers everywhere and otherwise Killers would not get hits all the time (not a problem with P2P btw back in the day…).
But I also have the feeling that you will need to have 500 Ping+ or something like that to get affected negatively by Hit Validation. It might not even exist at this point, I have faced a lagswitching Wesker whose Ping spiked up to around 600 when using his power and I always got set back to the position where his game had me without fail. So I think that there is no Server-Sided Hit Validation in place, because a Ping that high should clearly not favor the Killer.

You mean, hear the scream, see the survivor on the ground, and then immediately pop back up and run off?
Yeah, killer's were just upset about not getting their free hits.

Afaik there are "techs" to hit survivors who are readying to drop pallets using short swings that will hit them as they vacuum into the drop pallet animation. Killers that lunge swing rarely will hit through pallets this way as the actual hit is more delayed so they get bonked before the hit connects.
Basically, it's working as intended and you either have to pre-drop or risk getting hit during the dropping animation.

Well, friend, that is not what happened.
In reality, the system was awful and completely broken. There were games where I, having the best ping of the lobby mind you, hit a David through the pallet with my chainsaw as Bubba, I heard his scream, I saw the blood… and he walked away as if nothing had happened.
It was not a good system and it did not work.

To be fair, Killers were just used to getting ######### which should not have hit in the first place. And when it worked properly, they were unhappy.
Same with Dead Hard btw. Huge outcry when it was fixed after years and the people who were used to getting hits (because they did not see that the Survivor on the ground was exhausted because DH failed once again) did not like that they were on the side of receiving bad feedback.

This was happening to me a lot as killer as well, but never as survivor, so I always wondered if it looked different on the surivivor's end.

Its entirely untrue that it is the only game that favors "1 side" have you ever heard about "peakers advantage" in CS:GO? or basically any fps?
The reason why it feels so bad in DBD is because only 1 side can actually be the aggressor.

Any Dead hard criticisms from killers was against the perk itself not how the Devs coded it.
For the complaint on this post the negative feedback killers were given, aka sound and visual ques, was the issue with the initial rollback system. If we weren't given a victory notification just to watch the survivor run off it wouldn't of been a huge issue.
What many survivors are missing is the rollback sysytem wasn't there to eliminate hits through pallets. You can, even in the initial rollback, get hit if you time the pallet wrong. Survivors cannot camp every pallet thinking they are safe.

No, it's entirely true in this context. Most shooters are "Favor The Shooter," but it's not too bad, since everyone is the shooter at some point. The issue with DbD is that its network philosophy perpetually and exclusively favors one side over the other.

I agree, it is way too high. I've also experienced this, and it is especially frustrating when I run Lithe, Dance With Me, and Quick & Quiet. You fast vault; all three are on CD now. You successfully clear and land, then you're snapped back to the other side of the vault, still Exhausted and on CD, but now you've lost all momentum plus three perks. You slow vault and likely get downed shortly after.
The issue is that hits are still handled on The Killer's end, since we both realize validation doesn't really exist, or that the threshold is so high it rarely triggers. This is why cheating is easy and fairly common, too. 600 ping should kick you, but instead, it rewards The Killer with laggy hits. You know how we know SSHV doesn't exist or isn't effective? We never see complaints, videos, clips, or discussions about denied hits. If high-ping killers were getting punished, we would see mass discussions and videos about "fairness." We saw it briefly during the original SSHV launch and especially with that pallet and Dead Hard validation update. The devs backed off and reverted those changes due to complaints.

That's crazy cause with Wesker currently even with good ping his dash grab still hits you all the way from Zimbabwe

Good question, friend. I think it looked fine on the survivor's end, but I'm not sure. I was playing more killer than survivor at the time.

Hits through pallets on stun should never happen to begin with.
They just needed to adjust the desync between your client and the server, so you should not hear the scream or see the blood. We both can agree (I believe) that getting hits when you successfully stun the killer should never happen.
This is the only thing that annoys me in DBD.I know you are reasonable person and I respect your inputs most of the time.
-1 -
I think they are fine, to a certain extent, mostly because it is very difficult to fix, as we all know from experience.
-3 -
It's funny cause despite acknowledging how bad hit validation is for survivors these days the same group of people will still say every pallet should be weak because it's '50/50.'
5 -
So, i explain to you why its not true, you tell me i'm wrong, then proceed to explain why you agree with me.
-7 -
I understood your point, but you confused yourself in attempting to make it. I said one side, I didn't say action. The point prevails, DbD unlike shooters, only favors one side.
4 -
Its fine, you agree with me, don't want to admit it, and somehow say you disagree with me. I understand, the internet has to be a giant chamber of disagreement. No worries bro, have a good day!

Sometimes its not even ping issue but more of people not understanding how hitbox works, that if they stay near edge of wall to see and I throw huntress axe they are like "how can this hit me when Im behind the corner, this wouldnt happen in csgo", sometimes the hitbox is in different palce at the same time then survivors character model (behind him) so even when they vaulted their hitbox is still behind then very close to the window and killers hitbox connects on this range to theirs.
Its not magic just sometimes understanding this, truth is high ping can make killer hit some nasty hits like I got hit 3 seconds through solid pallet by wraith who had 274 ping (3 second after i prethrow it down because I knew he had terrible ping and safety first) but thats not happening 24/7. Same as killer being able to walk and m1 through fence (under it) or around bush but somehow he cant do it with chansaw (neither billy or bubba) because of the aura of that bush (not realy but it seems like it for some people) some people just dont get hitboxes after almost 10 years of this game existing.
And high ping doesnt work for killer always better like for m1 hits yes but for bubbas chansaw or nemis whip or wraiths uncloak (you had to hold it longer to uncloak with wraith when your ping is high, I just got 90 ms in 2v8 while playing with guy who was from same country as me and we were in like max 100 km radius close to each other, Im guessing this by his language and things he had on his steam profile which he comfirmed me) so its not always working for the killer like I get stunned by pallet when Im out of its reach by survivor who has higher ping than me too its annoying but still happens.
Same with vault proc action gainst wraith vs low ping survivor its annoying but nothing new.
Ps: this will get hated a lot.
