What is the license situation with Friday the 13th?
Did Jason Universe ever elaborate on what they own and what they don't own? What can BHVR use from Jason Universe license?

They can use looks from movies 1-8 at least and most likely any character from those too. More recent information they can even reference Pamela Jason's mother. They don't have rights to first movies US rights or the last movies after eight as those are owned by New Line Cinema. So no Jason X for example. They might be able to use the Crystal Lake name as the series they are making for Jason is tittle that so it seems to be in the Jason Universe rights. Friday the 13th name they can't use as that is owned also by New Line Cinema thats the main reason why the chapter is named Jason.

Based on what I've been reading, Jason Universe actually have access to quite a bit. I think it will be a pretty solid chapter.

The sixt and seventh movies jasons are still the sickest ones, he looks undead plus his skins could have more or slightly different mories with different weapons. Would be nice thing in 2026 not just skins with wasted potencial like the old ones.

They own everything except anything that was released after part 8 and the Friday the 13th brand name.
So they own crystal lake, Pamela, tommy jarvis, the first to part 8 movies so basically the good stuff xD well not owning freddy vs jason sucks tho but hey its good enough.
Yeah as u can see the license issues is a tangled mess. Maybe at some point in time jason universe eventually can buy off the licenses so they can get their stuff back.
