So when do you guys work on the Fog Vails so they are not completely useless anymore?

The Fog Vails was the first real new item in years and after enough killers cried it got turned absolutely useless and no one uses them anymore. What is the point of a item that is supposed to make it harder for the killer to see in a area for a few seconds...when the killer still can perfectly see survivors?

Are there any plans to make them valuable again so people run something else except toolboxes and medkits or did you guys just give up on them?

To be fair, I actually see quite a few people using the Vial in my matches. As a killer player myself, I think the biggest issue is that most survivors use it incorrectly.

A lot of survivors wait until the killer is basically right on top of them before using it, and at that point it's pretty much useless. However, if you use it just before someone gets hooked, especially if you know the killer has BBQ, you can prevent your aura from being revealed.

It's also very effective if you spot the killer approaching and use it before they're close enough to see through the cloud. For example, if you're inside a building, you can often slip away unnoticed and reposition safely.

I don't think the item is useless at all. I think a lot of people simply don't know how to get value out of it, to be honest.

The entire premise of Fog vials was not a good one to begin with . Alltough i respect them for finally trying to add a new items for survivors . Fog vials being " good " would literally be an acessibility nightmare for people who have any vision issues. Some folks could around it with reshade on pc maybe but that would just make it all the worst for console players which there is alot of believe it or not . So i don't see them getting anymore changes .

Yeah I see it too almost every survivor who is using them uses them like some houdiny trick just as killer is on top of them they use it and expect to dissapear instantly or what but thats very bad aproach better is use it before killer is close to you so he looses tracks which is main power of smoke bomb not to make you dissapear like vecnas eye or hand.

Its very good against some killers like nurse, range ones like huntress and mainly spirit.

Since they are in game I have met only few survivors using them correctly to hide tracks before killer teaches them and they could get lost or buy themselfs time but like you said majority pops them when killer is in range or almost behind them and that has way smaller effect then using them as prerun tool.

Also tracking killers like draculs in wolf form can still bypass them which some people compleatly let go above their head and wonder how killer still founds them.

My Question is that how are you using them.

Are you using them when the killer is already on you or fair away before a chase.

They reworked them to be used more fare away and not up close.

You need to know how to use them. Best way to use them is to use them so the killer is not inside the fog with you when you use it as he can't see you if he is outside of it at all. Then when he enters you should already be either hiding or running out of it as he also can't see you outside of it when he is inside.

Its an item you need to know how to use like all the rest.

That or using it against Nurse or Spirit.

I was able to extend my chase with a Spirit while injured while using it as she was trying to cut me off, so you can use it here or just to use it ahead of time. I think a vast majority of people just plop it down and hope for the best, but I'd still use medkits and toolboxes over it personally but they're not bad. They're just very situational if anything.

On 2v8 each time I faced spirit only counter was either play scount who has iron will or get smoke bomb that basicaly hides scratch marks and makes sound which disturbs spirit literary best item against spirit you can have because rven good spirit will have very hard time dealing with smoke bomb.

Precisely, it messes her up as she primarily uses sound - which is why as you said Iron Will is a strong perk to use against her.

Same for Nurse - Nurse relies on line-of-sight and she struggles when something obscures her vision. I will pick them up when I find them in chests as I primarily use toolboxes, same for keys just so I can find someone to heal me with when I need it.

It's all about utilization, most people just stick to the trio (toolbox, flashlight, and medkit) but if I use my toolbox and find a key or a fog vial, I'll pick it up lol.

I use these after I get someone off the hook when the killer is a nice distance away especially since I get off a lot of people who instantly run.

Fog vial with iri+duration add-ons are great because you can use it to stop bbq on majority of maps without being seen, and if you use it to pre run most killers will check inside the fog to see if you're ratting.

They might work better in the new visual update of DBD, coz of all the weather etc.
