Fan made chapter - My own summer
This chapter concept was inspired by Deftones' My Own Summer (Shove It). It started with the song—and eventually became an entire Dead by Daylight chapter idea.
CHAPTER CONCEPT DEAD BY DAYLIGHT: MY OWN SUMMER
"No human can truly control a tsunami."
CHAPTER CONCEPT
Theme: Human vs. Nature, Cosmic Horror, and a ruined summer.
Core Dynamic: A clash between The Tsunami (an unmasterable natural disaster embodied) and a Pro Surfer (a human who once believed he could tame any wave).
NEW KILLER: THE TSUNAMI
Lore & Identity:
It is not a killer with a personal vendetta or human emotion. It is an impartial, unstoppable cosmic force of nature bound into a humanoid form by the Entity. It has no hatred, no pity, and no choice—it simply exists, flows, and drowns everything in its path. It moves past screaming survivors without recognition; friends and strangers alike are swallowed equally.
Visual Design:
A humanoid shape composed of shifting, pitch-black ocean water mixed with sea debris and sunken objects. It has no gender, no skin, and no facial features—only a deep, swirling black vortex where its face should be.
POWER — APOCALYPTIC SURGE
The Tsunami dissolves into a gigantic, hyper-velocity wave that can surge across floors, walls, and ceilings.
Maximum speed: 40 m/s
Contact with the surrounding water builds a Drown Meter. It can eventually down survivors, but very slowly.
The primary way to down survivors is hitting them with the wave's core hitbox.
At 40 m/s, two successful core hits down a healthy survivor.
Lower speeds make the wave easier to control, but reduce its damage and require more hits.
Gameplay Philosophy: Extreme High-Risk, High-Return. The power is intentionally designed to be nearly uncontrollable for the player—because no one can truly tame a tsunami.
Audio & Atmosphere:
* No standard chase/lobby music. Replaced entirely by horrific sub-bass rumbles (20–40Hz) and crushing deep-sea hydro-acoustic noise.
* Heavy, waterlogged pressure sounds echo with every step.
NEW SURVIVOR — THE PRO SURFER
A former professional surfer and marine recreation instructor.
He spent his life studying waves and believing that any wave could eventually be understood and mastered.
During a summer trip with his friends, he encountered a wave that could not be mastered.
His friends were swallowed by the disaster, and he was eventually dragged into the Entity's Realm.

The Surfer:
“I can ride the wave.”
The Tsunami:
“You were never in control.”
TRAILER — “MY OWN SUMMER”
A peaceful summer beach.
Friends surfing and laughing.
No music.
The birds suddenly disappear.
The ocean retreats.
The Surfer looks toward the horizon.
A black line appears.
It becomes a colossal wall of water.
His friends disappear beneath it.
He reaches for them.
Blackout.
Radio static.
Then the opening riff of Deftones — “My Own Summer (Shove It)” for only a few seconds.

The song represents the Survivor's ruined summer, not the Killer.
IN-GAME EASTER EGG
A secluded abandoned shack contains an old radio, soaked in seawater and stained with blood.
A survivor interacts with it.
Static.
A distorted fragment of My Own Summer plays briefly.
Then a deep underwater-pressure rumble slowly overwhelms the song.
The music abruptly dies.
Silence.
CORE MESSAGE
Humanity can learn to ride the ocean.
Humanity can never truly control it.
The Survivor spent his life mastering waves.
The Killer is the wave that cannot be mastered.
