[KILLER CONCEPT] THE CHEF — A New Original Dead by Daylight Killer

Hi everyone,

I've been working on a fan-made Killer concept for Dead by Daylight, and I'd love to share it with you.

This is The Chef, an original Killer concept built around map pressure, resource management, and forcing Survivors to make difficult decisions.

The basic idea is simple:

The Chef searches for ingredients, cooks meals, and uses them to slowly take control of the Trial.

Survivors can ignore the meals and continue repairing Generators, but doing so allows The Chef to become increasingly powerful.

Alternatively, they can risk leaving their objectives behind and consume the meals to reduce his power.

🍳 THE CHEF

Role: Killer

Weapon: Kitchen Knife
Movement Speed: 4.6 m/s
Terror Radius: 32 metres

Height: Tall

"Good food always brings people together."

🔥 POWER — SERVE THE MEAL

The Chef turns the Trial into his own kitchen.

His Power revolves around three main actions:

Finding ingredients → Cooking meals → Controlling the map.

🥩 INGREDIENTS

The Chef can search Lockers around the Trial to find ingredients.

Each meal requires a random number of ingredients:

  • Minimum: 2 Ingredients
  • Maximum: 4 Ingredients

The more ingredients required for a meal, the longer it takes Survivors to consume it.

🍳 COOKING

Stoves are scattered throughout the Trial.

Once The Chef has collected enough ingredients, he can interact with a Stove to prepare a meal.

After the meal is prepared:

It remains on that specific Stove until a Survivor consumes it.

The meals gradually become an important part of the Trial.

🍽️ THE MEALS

After The Chef has prepared 3 meals, he gains:

⚡ 5% Haste

Survivors can only begin consuming meals once at least 3 meals have been prepared.

Meals can only be consumed directly from the Stove where they were prepared.

The more ingredients used to prepare a meal:

The longer it takes to consume.

This creates a risk for Survivors.

They must decide whether it is worth leaving Generators behind and approaching a potentially dangerous Stove.

⚙️ PRESSURE

If Survivors decide to ignore The Chef's meals, they will face another problem.

While meals remain on the map:

🔧 Generators are repaired 2% slower.

This gives Survivors a choice:

Continue repairing Generators and allow The Chef's influence to grow...

OR

Leave their objectives behind and consume the meals.

🔥 KITCHEN NETWORK

After preparing 5 meals, The Chef unlocks his strongest map-control ability.

🌀 TELEPORTATION

The Chef can teleport between Stoves every 20 seconds.

This ability remains active as long as meals are still available on the map.

This allows The Chef to quickly move across the Trial and protect different areas.

However, Survivors can weaken his control by consuming the meals.

🧍 SURVIVOR COUNTERPLAY

The main counterplay against The Chef is managing his meals.

Survivors can:

🍽️ Consume meals to remove them from the Trial.

By doing so, they can reduce The Chef's map pressure and prevent him from maintaining control over the Stoves.

However, consuming a meal requires time and leaves the Survivor vulnerable.

The more ingredients required for a meal:

The longer the eating interaction takes.

This creates a constant decision:

🛠️ Repair Generators?

🍽️ Or deal with The Chef's meals?

🟣 UNIQUE PERKS

HURRY, CUSTOMERS ARE HUNGRY!

The Chef can open and close Lockers 5% faster.

A simple perk designed around quickly searching Lockers.

CHEF IS ANGRY!

At the beginning of the Trial, a Hex Totem becomes active.

While the Hex Totem remains active, The Killer can hear Survivors performing:

  • Slow Vaults
  • Slow Locker Entries

Additionally, the Survivor's Aura is revealed to the Killer regardless of distance.

The effect remains active until the Hex Totem is blessed.

🔪 YOU WILL BE NEXT

After chasing a Survivor and ending the Chase, gain 1 Token.

Maximum: 3 Tokens.

For each Token, The Killer can instantly destroy one dropped Pallet by hitting it.

The Pallet is destroyed without the normal breaking animation.

If The Killer catches a Survivor, all Tokens are lost.

🧪 ADD-ONS

🟢 CHEF'S SPECIAL POISON

When a Survivor consumes a meal, they suffer from a random negative Status Effect.

Possible effects include:

  • Blindness
  • Exhausted
  • Oblivious

🟣 THAT'S A LOT OF CALORIES!

After consuming a meal:

The Survivor suffers from 3% Hindered for 10 seconds.

Maybe eating too much wasn't such a good idea...

📖 BACKSTORY

The Chef was never known for his patience.

For years, he worked in a small, aging restaurant that had long lost its customers. Most nights, only one or two people entered the building.

The restaurant slowly became his entire world.

As the years passed, his temper grew worse.

He believed the problem was never his food.

The problem was the customers.

They didn't understand good food anymore.

One night, a particularly rude customer entered the restaurant.

She complained about everything.

The food.

The service.

The Chef.

Again and again, she sent her meal back.

Eventually, she told him something that he could not forget:

"You're not a chef. You're a failure."

Something inside him finally broke.

The Chef returned to the kitchen.

This time, he prepared something special.

A new ingredient.

Poison.

That night, every customer received the same special meal.

None of them left the restaurant alive.

But the woman who had insulted him received a different fate.

The Chef made sure she would never leave.

Afterward, he took something from her as a trophy.

A reminder of the person who had finally pushed him beyond his limits.

Days later, the police surrounded his home.

They had finally found him.

As officers prepared to enter the building, a strange Fog began to crawl through the kitchen.

It poured from the Stove.

The Chef stood silently in front of it.

The officers forced their way inside.

But there was no one there.

Only an empty kitchen.

A bloodied knife.

And one freshly prepared meal sitting on the table.

The Chef was gone.

The Fog had taken him.

🗺️ MAP — THE FORGOTTEN DINER

The Chef's realm would be:

🍽️ THE FORGOTTEN DINER

An old and decaying restaurant that has been abandoned for years.

The location would have a dark, industrial, and worn-down atmosphere.

Possible areas include:

🍳 Main Kitchen

The heart of the map.

Old Stoves, hanging pans, damaged counters, and abandoned cooking equipment.

🍽️ Dining Area

Rows of empty tables.

Broken chairs.

Dirty plates.

A place where nobody has eaten for a very long time.

🥩 Storage Room

Old ingredients and kitchen supplies.

🧊 Meat Freezer

A cold and dark area filled with old storage containers.

🚻 Restrooms

A small but dangerous area for Survivors.

💬 FINAL THOUGHTS

This is a fan-made Killer concept created for fun, inspired by the atmosphere and gameplay style of Dead by Daylight.

My main goal was to create a Killer with a gameplay loop that feels different:

Search. Cook. Serve. Hunt.

I'd really love to hear your thoughts!

What do you think about:

  • The Power?
  • The Survivor counterplay?
  • The Teleportation mechanic?
  • The Perks?
  • The Add-ons?
  • The Map?

And most importantly:

Would you like to see The Chef in Dead by Daylight? 🔪🍳
