[CHAPTER CONCEPT] THIRST FOR REVENGE- The Scorned and Ryan Miller
DEAD BY DAYLIGHT: THIRST FOR REVENGE
Fan-Made Chapter Concept by ektwr2013
Chapter Theme: A victim who became a monster — and one of the people who helped create him.
This is an original fan-made Chapter concept for Dead by Daylight. THIRST FOR REVENGE explores the consequences of relentless bullying, the cycle of violence, and what happens when someone who was once powerless becomes consumed by revenge.
KILLER — THE SCORNED
Real Name: Daniel Mercer
Weapon: Broken Baseball Bat
Power: Breaking Point
Movement Speed: 4.4 m/s
Terror Radius: 40 metres
Height: Tall
Killer Store Description
A wrathful killer, able to harness their hatred to relentlessly pursue Survivors. The longer the chase continues, the more their fury grows, allowing them to punish Survivors who attempt to escape or fight back.
Their personal perks, Ruthless Revenge, Hex: Strength of Rage, and Blinded by Hatred, allow them to retaliate against stuns and blinds, expose Survivors during prolonged chases, and build Bloodlust at an increased rate.
KILLER BIO — DANIEL MERCER
Daniel Mercer had always been an easy target.
He was quiet, kept to himself, and rarely caused trouble. There was nothing particularly remarkable about him, which made it easier for others to decide that he was someone they could laugh at. It started with harmless jokes, or at least that was what everyone called them. They stole his belongings, mocked him in front of others, and found new ways to embarrass him whenever they were bored.
Daniel learned to keep his head down and endure it.
When the bullying became physical, he tried asking for help.
No one did anything.
Teachers told him to ignore it. His classmates laughed whenever he complained. Even those who witnessed what happened preferred to look away. Daniel began to understand that nobody was coming to save him.
The more he tried to defend himself, the worse things became. Every outburst was treated as proof that he was the problem.
Years passed, and the resentment grew.
Daniel became obsessed with the people who had made his life miserable. He replayed their words in his head, remembered every bruise, every humiliation, and every person who had watched without intervening.
He imagined confronting them, but never had the courage to act.
Until one afternoon, one of them pushed him too far.
Daniel fought back.
He expected fear.
He expected regret.
Instead, he felt relief.
For the first time, the people who had tormented him were afraid of him.
That feeling stayed with him.
Daniel began seeking out those who had bullied him. He told himself that he was only making them pay for what they had done. Each act of violence became easier to justify than the last.
Soon, the line between those who had wronged him and those who simply reminded him of them began to disappear.
Anyone who mocked him was an enemy.
Anyone who stood against him was an enemy.
Anyone who tried to stop him deserved what followed.
Daniel no longer thought of himself as a killer.
In his mind, he was still the victim, pushed beyond his limits by a world that had refused to protect him.
Then, one night, the Fog came.
It surrounded him before he could understand what was happening. The familiar world disappeared, replaced by endless darkness and the distant sound of someone laughing.
Daniel followed it.
He did not know where it would lead.
He only knew that, for once, there was no one left to tell him to stop.
APPEARANCE
The Scorned is a young man who still appears largely human.
He wears worn, dark clothing, with messy hair and a tired, beaten-down appearance. His body carries signs of the life he endured, including bruises, scars, and other signs of physical abuse.
His most distinctive feature is his completely white eyes.
The Entity has distorted Daniel's perception of reality. Rather than seeing Survivors as they truly are, Daniel perceives them as the people who tormented him.
To Daniel, every Survivor is another reminder of the people who hurt him.
He is no longer seeing the world as it really is.
WEAPON — BROKEN BASEBALL BAT
The Scorned wields a broken baseball bat.
The wood is heavily damaged and splintered, with cracks running through the barrel and a jagged broken end. The weapon looks less like something intended for sport and more like an object that has been repeatedly used in acts of violence.
POWER — BREAKING POINT
The Scorned's hatred fuels his ability to relentlessly pursue Survivors.
His Rage Meter represents the resentment building within him throughout the Trial.
Rage Meter
The Rage Meter ranges from 0–100%.
Rage does not accumulate continuously during a Chase.
Instead, Rage is calculated based on the length of the Chase and awarded when the Chase ends.
Normal Survivors
Gain 1% Rage for every 2 seconds spent in a Chase.
The Obsession
While chasing the Obsession, gain 1% Rage for every 1 second spent in a Chase.
Rage persists between Chases.
Whenever The Scorned hits a Survivor, he loses 40% Rage.
Rage and Haste
The Scorned converts his Rage into Haste.
For every 2% Rage, gain 1% Haste.
At 100% Rage, this results in 50% Haste.
However, if the Obsession dies, the effectiveness of Rage is reduced by half.
When the Obsession is dead:
Every 2% Rage grants 0.5% Haste.
At 100% Rage with the Obsession dead, The Scorned therefore receives a maximum of 25% Haste.
This creates an important strategic relationship between The Scorned, the Obsession, and his Rage.
KILLER PERKS
Ruthless Revenge
Whenever you are stunned or blinded, gain 5/10/15% Haste for a duration equal to the duration of the stun or blind.
“You wanted my attention. Now you have it.”
Hex: Strength of Rage
The first time you enter Bloodlust, a Dull Totem becomes a Hex Totem.
Whenever you enter Bloodlust, Survivors within your Terror Radius and any Survivor currently in a Chase with you become Exposed for 4/5/6 seconds.
The Hex effect persists until its Hex Totem is cleansed or blessed.
“You should have known better than to push him this far.”
Blinded by Hatred
Your Bloodlust builds 30/40/50% faster.
“The angrier he gets, the harder he is to stop.”
SURVIVOR — RYAN MILLER
Ryan Miller was one of the people who helped create Daniel's downfall.
Popular, confident, and charismatic, Ryan always knew how to make people laugh — especially when the joke was someone else.
He never thought of himself as a bully.
He was just having fun.
At least, that was what he told himself.
SURVIVOR STORE DESCRIPTION
A cocky survivor, able to capitalize on moments of opportunity and turn risky confrontations to their advantage. Their determination allows them to recover quickly from injury, complete objectives faster, and make the most of every opening.
Their personal perks, Stand Your Ground, Aftermath, and Adrenaline Rush, allow them to extend pallet stuns, increase their efficiency after stunning the Killer, and gain a burst of speed when injured.
SURVIVOR BIO — RYAN MILLER
Ryan Miller had always known how to pick his battles.
He was popular, confident, and rarely alone. There was always someone around to laugh at his jokes, follow his lead, or join him when he decided someone else was worth picking on.
Ryan never thought of himself as a bully.
He was just having fun.
At least, that was what he told himself.
Daniel Mercer was an easy target.
Quiet and withdrawn, Daniel rarely fought back. Ryan and his friends learned that they could say almost anything to him without consequence.
When Daniel complained, they laughed.
When he tried to defend himself, they pushed harder.
It became a game, and Ryan enjoyed being on the winning side.
Then Daniel finally snapped.
Ryan still remembered the first time he saw fear in someone else's eyes because of him.
He remembered the violence that followed, and how quickly the laughter disappeared.
After that day, Ryan stopped looking at Daniel as someone he could control.
He was terrified of him.
Years later, Ryan had convinced himself that what happened was in the past.
He had moved on.
He had nothing to feel guilty about.
Then the Fog came.
And somewhere beyond it, Ryan heard footsteps he knew all too well.
SURVIVOR PERKS
Stand Your Ground
Whenever you stun the Killer with a Pallet, the duration of the stun is increased by 30/40/50%.
After the stun ends, you become Exposed for 20 seconds and Exhausted for 40 seconds.
“What are you gonna do about it?” — Ryan Miller
Aftermath
After stunning the Killer with a Pallet, gain the following effects for 60/80/100 seconds:
You repair generators 10% faster.
You heal Survivors 10% faster.
You self-heal 10% faster.
You cleanse Totems 10% faster.
You bless Totems 10% faster.
You open Exit Gates 10% faster.
You sabotage Hooks 10% faster.
You unlock Chests 10% faster.
You unlock Exit Gate switches 10% faster.
You unhook Survivors 10% faster.
“That'll teach you.” — Ryan Miller
Adrenaline Rush
Whenever you are injured by a Basic Attack, gain 5% Haste for 1/2/3 seconds.
“You really think I'm going to let you catch me?” — Ryan Miller
CHAPTER LORE
THIRST FOR REVENGE focuses on the cycle between victim and perpetrator.
Daniel was genuinely wronged.
He was ignored, humiliated, and repeatedly hurt while the people around him chose not to intervene.
But when Daniel finally gained the power to fight back, revenge consumed him.
The victim became the threat.
Ryan represents the other side of that cycle. He helped make Daniel what he became, but never truly accepted responsibility for it.
Now both men are trapped in the Entity's Realm.
Daniel sees the people who hurt him everywhere he looks.
Ryan sees the person he thought he had left behind.
Neither can escape the past.
MAP — CHAPTER CONCEPT
A map themed around the environment where Daniel's life began to fall apart would complement the Chapter's story.
The map would incorporate familiar locations connected to Daniel's past while allowing the Entity to twist them into something much darker.
Possible Locations
- An abandoned school
- A run-down sports area
- Forgotten classrooms and hallways
- An outdoor basketball/baseball area
- Dark maintenance rooms
- Overgrown pathways surrounding the property
The environment would gradually feel less like a normal location and more like Daniel's distorted memory of it.
MORI — CONCEPT
The Scorned grabs the Survivor and forces them to the ground.
For a moment, Daniel simply stares at them.
The Survivor struggles, but Daniel seems distracted, as if he is seeing someone else entirely.
The Survivor looks up at him.
Daniel raises his broken baseball bat.
The first strike is quick.
The second is slower.
Daniel pauses again, staring into the Survivor's face as though waiting for an apology that will never come.
The Survivor tries to crawl away.
Daniel grips the broken bat tighter.
He raises it one final time.
He pushes it into the victim's head and it comes out of their mouth.
CHAPTER IDENTITY
THIRST FOR REVENGE
The title represents Daniel's obsession with revenge and the way his anger continues to consume him.
It also represents Ryan's past finally catching up with him.
The Chapter's central question is:
What happens when the victim becomes the monster?
Daniel believes he is still the victim.
Ryan knows he helped create him.
And the Entity knows exactly how to use that hatred.

FINAL CONCEPT STATEMENT
I designed THIRST FOR REVENGE around the idea that Daniel should not simply be an evil character who was bullied.
His tragedy is that his suffering was real, but his response to it eventually became something monstrous.
The Entity does not need to convince Daniel that he is justified.
It only needs to give him somewhere to continue his revenge.
Thank you for taking the time to read my fan-made Chapter concept.
