Sudden MMR jump during the event?

Maybe I'm the only one experiencing this but I feel like there is a sudden MMR jump in the Haunted by Daylight event?

I've been playing both sides for the last 3 days now and the first day was fine and I had like a 50/50 escape/kill rate but since yesterday I suddenly only get 50k hours comp squads, streamers that play this game for a living and absolutely roll me or P100 legacy killers when I solo queue as survivor that also roll me. Meanwhile my teammates are base skin Dwights that apparently just came fresh out of the tutorial.

I only had 1 escape the last 2 days and that was via hatch and had only 0ks since I noticed the sudden jump. Was just wondering if this is happening to other people as well.

It was the first weekend of the event. When there are more players waiting, the matchmaking system prioritises waiting time, so you may be matched with players further from the optimal MMR range.

I've also noticed an uptick in the amount of good players i have encountered- but I figure its b/c the event itself is drawing all of the more casual players to it while all of the "comp wanna be's" are in the normal mode

I think what @dangersmymidd1ename said is correct. The event is now going on for a few days so people who have played before either dont play it anymore (maybe they also love their eyes…) or only returned briefly for the event in the first place. So less people in the queue. I noticed this with my Killer wait times, they are longer now compared to the start of the event (not 2v8 long or anything, but it went from a few seconds to almost 2 minutes).

The event itself should not have any impact on Matchmaking, while it uses Matchmaking, it does not provide MMR gains or losses.

So I would also assume that less players are in the event queue and to combat the longer queuetimes, Matchmaking becomes less accurate.
