Questions regarding Vaulting!

Why does it almost always feel like this when going in a window or over a pallet? I have watched replays and the animation doesn't show the Killer sticking their hand in the window or over a pallet but still manage to get you.

The animation is just a visual thing, they have nothing to do with hit detection.

And yes, a killer can reach through the window and hit a survivor on the other side, just like in IRL ya know

I get that IRL but the game doesn't depict this animation at all and usually, the killer is too far anyway. It's like the Huntress' hatchets, those hit despite flying by your head and way off target. I guess it's just the game.

Does the game favor the killer actions when there is a disconnect between killer and survivor actions? It seems to give the favor to both but unfortunately for the Survivor, it doesn't matter if there were already injured. I guess that explains why the pallet stun and killer hit both count?

Yeah and apparently from 2+ meters away after a vault, just like IRL.

2 meters are definitely not possible, that would be lagg

You can thank connection, hit boxes, and auto aim. There's times where the killer definitely hit you, too, that the hit doesn't register for whatever reason.

Its laziness on the animation part, but still fair play, sometimes you get a cheeky hit cause of lag but this isn't frequent in my experience, i get countless hits on people that vault without dodging at lunge distance or try to tbag immediatly in front of it and claim its unfair cause they are full of #########.

You keep saying that but can Hag reach me when I'm about 3m away with her tiny hands? Answer is no. It's a hitbox thing.

And yet again, the animation is only visual.

They should at least fix it up.

It's worse when the killer is based on the moon. One moment I am vaulting a window with full health, the next moment I'm in the killer's arm on my way to the basement.

Wanna see that Spirit or Billy in RL with their specific movement hitting through a window. Would not be possible, they would hit the windowframe instead. And thats the problem: the animation is not logical to the hit. And thats also a problem of hitboxes. Most objects doesnt seem to have hitdetection while killer weapons are "activated" like the chainsaw running through wall corners. For example: Leatherface mostly hitting nothing at all while survs get repelled by the smallest stone on the ground. I tell you: somethings strange in this neighbourhood.

Thats why survivors can climb trees and rocks on some maps and LF starts a tantrum when hitting something at the very edge of the screen or nothing at all, especially with the guide bar...

a change to the killers attack animation would probably help, a swipe if you just want the quick strike, and the killer preparing a forward lunge when you hold down the attack. for the swipe, a quick lunge is executed instead when you're facing a window.

Maybe the Hag can't but the new killer can. Here is a leaked image.

    • Killer is hosting from a tin shack on dialup in Romania
    • Survivor sees themselves go through window and make it 10 feet
    • Ping argument occurs which Killer wins because they are the host by default because /easy-mode, hand-held, babied special snowflake
