Killer obsession perks V New DS question

If the obsession is dead, will it still change to a new player?

I ask because I feel like this will change a lot of perks for killer side that depend on the obsession being dead or alive.

  • Dying Light/Remember Me require you to kill the obsession. The new DS breaks both of these pretty hard.
  • Rancor lets you mori, so if I mori the obsession then another player hits me with DS can I now mori them? (This might be cool...)
  • STBFL/PWYF can only get you stacks if the obsession is alive. In a way it's a buff for these perks but STBFL is already very good. PWYF needs some QoL but not like this.

Point being, why is going to happen with these perks? Don't get me wrong, the new DS looks like it's actually well designed, I'm just thinking MAYBE say that the obsession cannot change if the survivor that was the obsession is killed. Otherwise most of the killer's obsession perks will be broken.

For dying light at least, the condition is just killing the current obsession. Once it's active a new obsession won't change anything as the perks condition has already been met.

Okay that makes sense. I was thinking the perk would deactivate, I guess we will see how it works, I hope you're right though.

Still hurts Remember Me though because the obsession can open the gate faster.
