Is there a new Rank reset system?

My friend told me that his rank reset today, so me coming home to play some dbd, I'm expecting a message saying the ranks have been reset and yadda yadda, but my rank is still the same. Is it because I'm a purple rank and he's a yellow? Or..

    Well the rank reset was waaaaay ealier
    On like 11th? Or something along these lines.
    He must've not logged in for 2 weeks then

    Has your friend played since the reset on the 13th?

    Could be a bug of course as nothing has been stated to have changed.
