R "Exploiting"?
No seriously what is this that survivors are now saying is an exploit of the game. I have heard of some straight dumpster fire from survivors but hearing how pressing R to avoid a flashlight is an exploit makes me laugh. Apparently, R "exploiting" is when the killer rapidly presses R and drops the survivor, thus avoiding the flashlight blind. So what i want to know is, how many of you actually think this is some type of exploit, don't worry you won't be made fun of, but i do want some kind of discussion on how this is considered an exploit, when moonwalking legion is not an exploit.

So, does dropping the survivor actually prevent the flashlight blind from happening when it should or are they just dropping the survivor so they don’t get free from the blind? I don’t go for flashlight saves often so just want to be sure. If they are just dropping the survivor to prevent them from being freed when they are blinded I wouldn’t consider it an exploit.1

When a Survivor has successfully pulled off a flashlight save; there was a tiny window where you could drop the Survivor and negate the save. It kinda exploited the flashlight, but the arguably thing was it was hard to pull off.
Though, I kinda only remember this happening prior to the new pick up speed changes, so I could be wrong lol.

Huh, didn't even know you could manage to prevent the save like that, tbh. Hell, I'd do it.1

An exploit is using a gameplay mechanic in order to subvert the intended design of the developers.
If a flashlight has to be in a certain spot during an animation to get its effect, then cancelling the animation by dropping the survivor’s is simply a counter to the flashlight.5 -
It's only an exploit is pallet blinding killers is also considered an exploit.0

Oh boy i know of a certain few streamers who will whine forever if you press R to drop in their matches.

This is not an exploit.

If you use R you are a pirate and therefore a cheater so they are correct matey.

Anyways, in the next update this will be removed like dribbling, because dropping a survivor will be 0.5 seconds0 -
lmao, I was so confused by the title, until I read the post, being a console scrub.
But, back on point, I wouldn't call it an exploit as both are in the game intentionally, and how they work with (or in this case against) each other is I would say prefectly fine, flashlight saves aren't always going to save, and it's not like holding down circle (r for pc) is the only way to stop flashlight saves, you can bait the flashlight and down them, you can look at walls, quickly look up if they miss by a second. Also, you need to remember that when you drop a surv and pick them back up, there is progress on the wiggle, enough so to make a clutch wiggle escape.

I've never done it as I make sure I face a wall or that nobody is near me as I pick up a survivor.
That said if this is an exploit then so is looping, bodyblocking and jumping in lockers to avoid being hit.0 -
you ######### up as the killer to even allow me to pull off a flashlight save but it doesnt matter because all you have to do is spam R. it's completely stupid you face no punishment for your mistake even when I capitalize on it0
-
its not an exploit, its called being smart

Killers could make sure to pick up a survivor so that a flashlight save is very difficult, or just give damn and spam R when they notice that they fraked up and there's a flashlight in their face. It's far from being smart if you have to use it.
Seems like a second chance mechanic for killers. God damn second chances.

It was considered an exploit because the flashlight save was considered successful, but it would negate it. Again, I remember this only being prior to the pick up changes in speed. It was also hard to pull off.
Maybe read some of the thread for some clarification my dude :P

Well, they are getting rid of it.
QUESTION: DOES THIS MEAN DRIBBLING A SURVIVOR SERVES NO PURPOSE? GOOD ON BHVR TO REMOVE THAT.
Horvath: Yes dribbling should no longer be a thing, I do not believe this was mentioned in the blogpost but there is now a 0.5 second delay before a killer can drop a survivor after picking them up. This should avoid dribbling and flashlight dodging right after a pick up. (flashlights can still be avoided by facing away from them)Last QA about DS.
You won't be able to spam R to avoid flashlight save now, learn to face a wall.

Actually if you time flashlight perfectly killer can't drop a survivor. Its always worth trying tho1

If the Killer manages to drop the Survivor by pressing R, the Flasher messed up the timing. They are just mad.0

Doesn't work anymore. I tried yesterday

It is an exploit and it was confirmed in Zubat’s stream a while ago. Whether or not you can actually get banned for it, who knows.0

-
If it works then you were too late with the flashlight save, if you hit the save correctly they will always drop no matter what1
-
I've never seen it or done it myself but I guess the devs thought it was a problem enough to add a delay to dropping.
