But they're going to make it so flashlight dodging is harder to do in the next patch by adding a cool down for dropping survivors after picking them up.1

I heard that it used to be harder to just drop people during a flashlight save but it got bugged out in one of the patches0

Make sure to drop every time you think there might be a flashlight nearby, just to bait them to come out. If no one does, try picking and dropping a few times just to be sure. It can't hurt ^_^
