"Dead by daylight will run at 60 FPS on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and minimum spec PCs."
Topic title is a quote from their recent optomization post (link at the top witth the purple header) where they give an insight into their plans to bring the game up to 60fps.
It's an "ongoing process" of course but the next improvements to frame rate should come with chapter 11 which is just around the corner now.
I have to wonder though, do you think their target of 60fps on consoles (and min spec PC's) will ever come to light?
The game has ran poorly now for so long even on Xbox One X that 60fps just seems like a dream when it comes to DBD.
Do you think they will hit 60fps on consoles such as the base Xbox?
Maybe the recent Switch announcement means that frame rate is a priority now.
I'd install the game again if they managed to get it to run at 60fps (I used to play DBD on X1X) but I'm not holding my breath, I am crossing my fingers though :)

I still cant maintain stable 60 fps on my gaming PC that is way above the required specs. (neglectable problems though, but still)
Good luck with those plans.... and good luck for all switch players lul....

Maybe several months to a year down the road.

I hope they can get 40-50 FPS on console. That would be wonderful.
The game right now runs at an average of probably 25 or so. Maybe 28. Definitely under 30. On console at least.
Maybe sometime this summer they can get there? I don't know. Apex runs at 60... I don't really like that game, but you'd think a dark game with fog would be able to run better for sure.
The lighting is better since the engine update, and the loading times are better too. I've noticed a "slight" improvement on PS4 with performance myself.

Just like other games that become popular, either the developers in certain departments improve, or they're tossed out for someone better. Hopefully the optimization strike teams know what they're doing. I doubt they'd hype up optimization if they didn't believe it was possible.

The game could easily run at 60 FPS on Xbox, they just need to clean up the code.

I am happy they are taking optimization seriously. I prefer to play on low settings and that allows me to get around 100 - 120 FPS stable. Hopefully with these optimizations i will be able to hit a rock solid 144 FPS and on higher detail settings. However this is amazing for folks using the baseline consoles and those with potato computers. These optimizations will make the game more accessible to those with lower end hardware and hopefully lead to more growth within the community.

I'm sure there is "a way" to reach (and even surpass) a 60fps minimum for console and whatnot maintaining the exact same appearance of the game.
The problem is what is behind the scene, what makes the game "appear": take for example the sentence "change the game from *tick based* to *event bases*" - yeah, easy to say, not very much to do, if all your program revolves around it :P.
One may speculate it would be easier to just re-do everything from scratch than to try a step-by-step update. Well, good luck anyway :D

Yeah I believe it. In some games with 1 or 2 survivors left, or in kyf, and in some areas of maps, my fps spikes upwards. Probably not 60, but it's way smoother than the regular #########. So I think with engine tweaks and optimization is definitely possible.

I think some of us are spoiled with gaming and framerates in general.
ALL games in this day and age should run at MINIMUM 30. No less. Ever. The issue with console FPS is that it dips under this at times, and it's annoying.
If they could get it up to 40FPS on console, I'd take that. I'd love that.
60 sounds amazing, but we'll see. I like the artwork and graphics a lot, they aren't too demanding looking, but I like the style a lot.
