Perk Idea | Hex: The Shroud

I am in no way a game designer, just a nerd who loves this game with an idea. If you have any ideas to improve the perk, let me know and lets form a discussion. We're a community, lets make something great.

When The Shroud is active, all other hex totems appear as dull totems until The Shroud is cleansed.

Passively: all dull totems - actual dull totems - are highlighted in a white aura.

Whenever a survivor cleanses a totem, their aura is revealed for a brief time (say 6/8/10 seconds) and an audio notification plays after the totem is cleansed.

If a survivor cleanses The Shroud, the survivor's aura is revealed for an extended time, and all other survivors have their aura revealed for a brief time. All cursed notifications are removed (with the exception of haunted grounds) until reapplied. The survivors will be given no indication that Hex: The Shroud is active, however once cleansed other totems on the map will light up instantly.

What will this do for the game? Killers can manipulate a survivor's fear of this perk like with Hex: No One Escapes Death. Survivors can choose to waste time cleansing all totems they see (as they usually do) or just rush things out and only cleanse the shroud, thinking it's something like Hex: Ruin, extending the duration for a time (if you're lucky).

This can be used to mess with a team and keep other, more devastating perks, like Hex: Devour Hope, from being cleansed safely. This gives the killer more time to manipulate with its effects, such as The Shroud being cleansed, Devour Hope's curse being 'lifted' on the Survivor point of view, then the next smack to the head instantly downs a survivor.

    This is a great totem idea, I think no one commented on it because you posted this on the same day that the new chapter was revealed. I love this idea, so your totem that causes the Shroud is that shrouded as well or is it lit up? I think it should be shrouded personally because it's kind of like Thrill of The Hunt. This would confuse Survivors to no end, they would know Ruin is active and can't find any active totems so they don't break any. Unless they're like me of course and just break them, this would definitely give totems a much bigger chance at actually doing their job.

    +HatCreature Basically the way it works, is that when you use Hex: The Shroud, The Shroud is the only lit totem. Ruin, Devour Hope, NoED, Haunted Grounds, The Third Seal, Huntress' Lullaby, etc. will all appear as dull totems until The Shroud is cleansed.

    I like the idea. It could definitely help extend the time killers have.

    Ah I gotchya, not as powerful as it could be but this is fair I guess. I would totally use this with Haunted Grounds, it probably wouldn't work the way I want it to most of the time but I can just imagine the priceless reaction of someone cleansing a ''dull'' totem and getting Exposed LMAO
