Right now its irrelevant, you can easily reach rank 1 without even owning a mic.
That shows once again how broken the ranking system is. SWF with voice comms have without doubt an insane advantage over solo survivors, and yet solo survivors can easily reach rank 1, the highest you can reach.......
There are so many aspects of DBD that need fixing, but you gotta start somewhere. In my opinion it would be wrong balancing the game around SWF before solos get voice comms

@HeroLives I'm a gamer guy and it's only recently that all of the nonsense that girls have to go through has begun to reach me. (Not actual harassment, just all of the lovely (/s) stories about girls being harassed in: Rainbow Six Siege, Fallout 76, and many many more.
Hence my concern, that, in Dead by Daylight this could be turned up to whole new levels of appalling. After all, the only thing worse than being basement camped by Leatherface would be getting basement camped by a Leatherface that spends the entire 2 minutes (if you actually hung around to wait the timer out) sexually harassing you.

I know what you mean. I'm just trying to think out how all of the pieces would fall into place. On top of making sure that the game stays "fun" we just need to make sure that the developers wouldn't waste time making a chat system that would be mostly neglected.

im a solo and I reach rank 1 just fine without mics or swf. There’s no real gap Bc I run perks that make up for the gap which imo are way better than all the second chance exhaustion perks people run. The solo life ain’t that bad if you know how to play solo. It’s really not all people make it out to be. You can’t play solo with a build like swf Bc you’re most likely going to f yourself. Plus yeah sometimes I get potatoe teammates Bc the way rank system is now, but sometimes I’m with good players too that deserve to be in red rank. When I’m with those teammates I feel no gap at all.

@Peasant it’s real, which brings me back to people don’t know how to act. They can put voice comms in for killers and to “bridge the solo gap” but tbh I’ll probably end up muting them, and the killer most the time Bc screaming children, sweaty players trash talking, and sexual harassment. So it won’t be much different from how I play now. And if I do swf and the killer can hear it’s also whatever to me Bc it’s just like do gens they’re camping the area or it’s safe for a save someone come get me. Do we have all the totems before popping the last gen. Which my friend demon likes to goof and lie about how many he’s cleansed so sometimes we get hit with noed which is lulz so I don’t really care. Half the people I play swf with are killer mains anyways or play both sides. So we don’t act like hoodlums power tripping over comms. So tbh wouldn’t affect me much there either.
I have played with other swf types(whom I no longer associate myself with Bc the way they are) and tbh it will be really raging to be forced into comms with these douche nozzles. I don’t even main killer and I get mad Bc the stuff they do and say in chat. If killers want to subject theirself to that have fun.
If they can add mute option for each player for the in game comm I’d be whatever about this.

I'm not talking about removing it, I'm talking about minimizing it. There's no reason whatsoever to give killers the ability to be toxic via verbal chat.

Q: Why do so many people here think that the killer would be included in the voice comms?
I mean, HELLO! Are they included in the pre-game lobby chat? NO! There has never been any indication that BHVR is even considering any communication between the killer and survivors, in fact it’s always been the exact opposite. The communication would only be between survivors, which is how it is on console. The only game that was stupid enough to include the killer, was F13, and we all know where it ended up.

Using distance based communication would be a benefit to survivors but a disadvantage to the killers, it should work like Rainbow Six Siege and no animations for when you talk, keep it at the R6S style, if they do implement it, it should be able to be switched on and off but in my opinion, don't care for it.

So after playing a completely different style game which is built around communicating with those you play with, you want it in a game built around not being able to communicate with the people you play with.

That ain't why there's not voice coms. Voice coms could never work in this game as a killer could hear you and not need perks like whispers, nurses or bbq to find your ass.
