Tips to teaching someone the game?

I'm bad at survivor. My mom has decided to start playing and I have no clue how to be a teacher. It's usually me screeching about pallets and looping while she spins around confused. Anyone teach someone the game and if so any tips to teaching?

@KingB I recommend a YouTube channel called The King. (I recommend looking up “the king dead by daylight” usually it comes up with his channel) He regularly posts stuff about dbd and has a few tutorials on how to play and they are pretty solid.

Let then experience it for the first time. The true horror comes from when you first play the game and don’t know how to play it.

I learn the mechanics of the game through my errors, not watching streamers.

There are tutorials that teach the very basics well. Play a lot of survivor then. Once you get to know maps and mechanics play killer. Play both sides then, best results.

This game is about time. If you know you are going down waste as much killers time as possible. Use kindred. Try to not waste pallets too fast. You don't always have to go for save. There are 4 survivors in trial, doing generators is your only way out, focus on them, but saving someone before they reaches next stage is advised (not always tho). Super basics, there are many turorials on looping on YouTube, check them. Utylize windows, only use pallets if you have no choice.

Let her play alone for a while (im just guessing you're atleast rank 15-10 right?)

Her playing on her rank level (if matchmaking doesn't decide to mess up) is gonna be a good start :D

If you have any favorite DbD streamers or YouTubers, I would recommend having her watch them. I remember watching streamers before actually getting into the game and I felt I wasn't nearly as newbie as perhaps others may have been. Regardless, you should probably start with baby steps. Allow her to get used to generators and running around/being chased before teaching her more advanced things such as looping. Most people in the higher ranks don't actually know how to loop, anyway. They'll often just run straight and sometimes won't even go to pallets. If she can learn to keep an eye on the killer in chase and where the loops are, you can also slowly show her how to do them, but patience is key. It may also help to have her watch you or be in a game with another friend so that both of you can show her how to play.
