All the male original survivors come from a wealthy family. Where as all the female originals come from middle class.

Dwight - Working a dead end job because no one cares. If he was from a wealthy family, wouldn't people bother with him?
Jake - Son of a CEO. So yeah, pretty wealthy.
Ace - Literal quote from his backstory: "From his roots as a poor boy in Argentina, he gambled, scammed, seduced and smooth-talked his way to a life of luxury as a high roller in the land of opportunity." Notice it says POOR boy.
David - Yep, wealthy.
Adam - I mean, his father had published works, but its never mentioned his family has wealth.
Jeff - Also never mentioned to have wealth in his family.
So, 1/3 of the original male survivors are confirmed to be from wealthy families.

It is completely possible the Dwight's parent not giving a ######### is the reason his life went the way it did. I also thought David was an original survivor.

Dwight: He took a job at a pizza place and had a dead end job. Pretty sure even if his parents didn't care too much about him they would have tried to get him into a more respectable position if they were rich.
Jake: He came from a wealthy family but he did not like it, so instead he ran away.
David: He was born wealthy but did little to nothing with the opportunities he was given.
Ace: He was born poor and had to work himself up to the top.
Adam: Not sure, wasn't mentioned.
Jeff: I would imagine he was born middle class.

Dwight- He is a pizza boy. Doubtful he is wealthy.
Meg- Was offered scholarships, but never mentioned she was wealthy.
Claudette- Never stated
Jake- Wealthy
Nea- Doubtful
Ace- Grew up poor
Feng- Doubtful
David- Wealthy
Kate- She was a singer so it is a possibility. Probably middle class
Adam- He’s a teacher so probably middle class.
Jeff- Doubtful
Jane- Pretty sure she was wealthy.
Not all the female cast are middle class, but I don’t know what you mean by “original cast”. The original four?
