I’m missing some basic features that would make life so much easier. In light of the dedicated servers being just around the corner, how about some simple love for the chat? Here’s what I’ve got:

  • Add an online-status - It would be lovely to see who is hanging around and who has left. Doesn’t need to be a fancy pancy operation, a simple text message like <XXX has left the server> would suffice.
  • Add an indication if someone is typing. That way we can hang around if we see someone is trying to communicate.
  • Add a profanity filter - send warnings to those who are breaking the rules automatically. Maybe use bots like Twitch?
  • Sometimes I want to leave happy little messages when I have died, however in it’s current state, the players doesn’t see messages left before they finished the game. How about having messages stay even or maybe just a GG symbol to use?

    @kamisen I would absolutely love this change, especially if it meant they finally added the chat on consoles, but unfortunately I don't think they can do this until dedicated servers. The good news is, dedicated servers are just about 2ish months away!
