Would pausing the DS timer during a Chase be too strong?

What does everyone think? One of the things I've run into lately, is I'll get tunneled but sometimes either the Killer is intentionally letting me go to avoid DS or I'm just that good at keeping him in a Chase for 60 seconds that when I finally do get down DS is no longer available.
