Was Hillbilly partially inspired by the Saw Runner from CoF?
Looking at it now with the speed and one hit downs I wonder if someone from behavior played CoF and was inspired by the sawrunner. He’s a good inspiration. That sequence is still the scariest chase and thing in any video game. Ever. So it would make sense. If you want to make a game scary, get yourself a sawrunner.

Billy was 90% based on LF. They just didn't have the license yet. Trapper was based off Jason Voorhees, (FT13) and Wraith was either The Grim Reaper or maybe Slender Man (don't count me on the last one.)

Stuff can have multiple inspirations and Wraith I think might be partially inspired by the Predators cloaking mechanic.

Personally I think the devs got massive inspiration from Resident Evil 5. Theres an actual replica of hillbilly running at you with a chainsaw.

Wraith is Preditor.

The Wraith is definitely inspired by the Predator. He's got the cloaking ability and his perks focus around tracking and increased vision (heck, one of the perks is even named Predator).
