Let's talk about stress for killers and survivors
In the last stream, they say that they create the EGC this way so survivors have better control over it and have less stress, but by making this decision they just add even more stress to the killer and they give to the survivors even more power over the game. You see right now the survivors have total control over the time the killer has in the game and if they want they can end a game in 5-6 min with no problem. This alone puts a lot of stress to the killers add the fact that survivors have way less thing to do than the killer and make the game way more stressful than fun. The only goal the survivors have is to escape that mean do 5 gens and open one of the two doors so that is 6 thing in total the survivors have to do in order to win. The killer from the other side has to guard 7 gens, kill 4 survivors and guard 2 doors that are 13 in total. And yes you can argue that the door is only after then gens are done but still in every facet of the game killer have to do more than any of the survivors.

That's natural as killers have no down time unlike survivors, they have to manage time more effectively.
Killer are always hunting, chasing and downing.
Survivors being 4 of them will always have less pressure due to as soon as they see a hit happening they are free to do a gen and can keep an eye for them going down.
It's just how any isometrical game such as this is, one side always has more to do which itself is more stressful.
The egc though actually increases the stress for survivors as once the gates open they now have a set time to do certain actions such as saves, destroy a lit totem etc, they now also have to manage time at the end game which is the major factor for stress in the game.

The EGC is just a timer that says to the survivors you have 2-4 minutes to do whatever you want and you have at least one door open. Most survivor will do everything they want in the game no after the EGC start. Just because is an isometrical game that doesn't mean one side has to do so way more than the other. The only way to make the game less stressful is either give less thing to the killers to do, for example, survivors die in 2 hooks or give a second objective.

This is why I only play Survivor now.
The stress of playing a Killer was too much for me.
Am I weak? Probably. But I want to have fun, and I just don't find playing Killer fun anymore.

if you experience stress as killer or survivor I would just dc and play something else for a bit no point playing if you aren't having fun.

Anything that has time management is stressful.
The egc as a normal effect if no one is injured isn't stressful and by design it's just to stop trolls.
It does become stressful once someone is downed for them though as they need to save within that frame, you can't say it doesn't change it when before they had unlimited time to do the same.
Choices now have to be made by survivors, theu either leave instantly or tru to help, if someone is hooked at the other end of the map, if NOED is still up they have to try find that totem before trying to save or it's an even riskier save, all that has to happen within a time frame now and they have to be aware of it.
Time management is what makes killer stressful the same applies here.
You don't want two hook stages as it makes camping more viable so they would need to reduce gen times again.
Imo another objective is the best way which has been asked for since it prolongs the game more naturally and allows for more engaging interactions.

#########? This doesn't make sense at all, how is it more stressful for the killer?

Uhhhh.... If you were Dwight delivering a pizza.. I would think you'd be pretty stressed out cause no one ever seems to be home at the shack.
Dwight still needs to be paid.

Why you thing survivors are more stressful ?

I haven't say that, don't put words into my mouth. I'm talking about EGC only. It doesn't make the killer game more stressful.

It honestly baffles how low key and easy going survivor is. Survivors should be terrified and they should be grateful they made it to the exit gate, not taking a stroll through the park all the time.
Every killer should inspire the same fear and dread as hearing Michael tier up.

@pemberley You are correct, it should. Unfortunately, I've seen this same issue not only in Dead by Daylight, but also in Friday the 13th and Last Year: The Nightmare. Playing the Killer isn't the power role it's supposed to be, and it's more just an inconvenience for the survivors (insert whatever name those games used for the role, as well). In all three games, the Killers are just bullied around far too easily.
I can't speak for other asymmetrical games, such as when Evolve was still a thing, because I didn't play the genre before DbD. But it definitely seems to be an issue, at least in the horror sub-genre.
The Killer or monster should be the power role. In a 1v1 or 1v2 situation, they should hold the cards. It should require teamwork on the part of the numbers-role to handle the power role. Unfortunately, that then makes the game heavily reliant on coordinated teamwork. And as I've spoken about elsewhere, that design rarely works with the general gaming public. It only truly works in a controlled environment of playing with a consistent team of friends, or on an eSports team.
Which is why I don't feel the asymmetrical genre will ever work as people expect, and it should never be set-up as a competitive game where certain balance considerations are expected. It should just be a casual game that delivers an experience, and nothing more. Dead by Daylight, using a ranking system as the only mode of play the way it does, made a serious mistake from moment one in my opinion.

Most of you seem to forget: stress is fun. No stress is just... meh. Boring. Make me want to smash my keyboard to pieces, that's how I feel alive!

Damn right.

@George_Soros That isn't true for everyone, though. I have a stressful career as a full-time author. I retired in 2018 from another stressful career in the game industry. I play video games for fun and to relax.
I have a lot of fun just playing offline mode against Bots in Friday The 13th, even on high difficulty. No stress. I have fun just running LFR raids in WoW. No stress.
I stopped playing Competitive Mode in Overwatch because of the stress. It wasn't fun. Ditto for ranked in Heroes of the Storm.
Not everyone wants to be stressed playing a video game. Some of us just play to relax and unwind. And even in a PvP game when there is a casual mode such as a Quick Play mode, that can still be achieved.

By design this type of game, as a 4v1, is meant to be so, however, and so may simply not be for you.

@Kilmeran LFR in WoW? you disgust me... Jk lol I understand some people don't like stress and totally agree with you but I personally enjoy stressful games because winning feels more rewarding after a stressful game for me at the very least.

I still feel bad running "No Fear" Jenny in Friday the 13th. Jasons never knew what they were getting into when they would chase me, and I would jumpscare the hell out of them every time from around a corner with a baseball.
Plus doors, and beartraps...
