Smaller maps would help other killers reach Billy and Nurse level.
Tbh the maps are a little too big, and if mobility is what truly separates m1/r2 killers from Nurse and Billy, then maps should be smaller so that mobility isn’t necessarily king.
This would also help increase gen pressure and decrease the gen rush from happening before a killer has even a chance to patrol the map.

While some killers have power to make up for their speed in chase, large maps tend to hinder their pressence & pressure until the few remaining gens reduce the distance needed to travel. Better sizing could go along way to closing the gaps of killer viability.

I agree, some maps are just too big for some killers to get around in, Map pressure is almost impossible. The problem is though is you make these maps smaller and it makes the strong killers even stronger.
Honestly, I'd rather see the lower tier killers get buffs to compensate for their weaknesses and bring some variety to the game at higher ranks.

If you make maps smaller you will increase the presence of low mobility killers. Yes, true. But at the same time, you will also increase the presence of high mobility killers, making them even more powerful.
I might be missing something, but this doesn't sound like a well balanced change proposal.

Theoretically, maps would be smaller then we could make other changes like:
a) lowering the distance of Billy and Nurse
b) slightly increasing clutter or los in a way that doesn’t hinder m1/r2 killers but will pose a problem for Billy and Nurse who need open spaces to operate at 100%.

When they both get nerfed, small maps against a nurse or billy would be a NIGHTMARE.
(They already are)

I think something like this would take a ######### tone of time, not saying the idea is bad or anything like that tho, Im just saying we wouldnt see this in a very long time.
If it's taking this long to do this Freddy rework and the new objectives and stuff like that... I cant imagine how long it'll take the devs to adjust every single map; adjust pallets/windows, adjust totems, adjust hooks, etc.

Swamp maps have kind of already proven that shrinking maps doesn’t fix them. I actually use to enjoy grim pantry prior to its size rework, now it’s small, had a dock added, and anytime you get into a chase they run straight for the pantry which is a mandatory minimum of a 2.5-3 minute chase without balanced landing (speaking as a Huntress main). The issue is the broken structures and loops. That is what needs to be looked into. Could you imagine Torment Creek shrunk down so every time you get into a chase they run the damn blimp thing....yikes.

I think it’s a mixture of both. Even the swamp maps are still on the larger side.
And tbh killers still have to contend with both large map sizes and survivors running to the nearest infinity gym. I think helping at least one of these issues would have a positive impact for killers.

I hear ya man. I just don’t have much hope for the map shrinkage. Immediately after shrinking the swamps, they added Mount Ormand, Yamaoka Estate, and temple of purgation. If they were actually concerned with sizing they wouldn’t have done so. It makes literally zero sense but I guess it is what we have come to expect from the devs

I doubt that it will happen, this game is pretty much survivor sided, remember.

Oh I know, It's wishful thinking. The Devs have shown their bias and greed with the release and radio silence of MoM and have stated before they they don't make killers to be viable.

Ever wonder why the Game map is considered so Killer sided? This is why. It's so much easier to traverse as killer, especially ones like Plague, Pig or Freddy with no real speed enhancements. It's not killer oriented, it's just balanced.

No one wants more nurse/billy killers.
